I was watching the morning news and there was a story about a gunman going into a preschool in Scotland and killing children. Right then, my young son, came in and asked what it was about.

turned on the a.m. news
mad man went off without warning
doing the things evil men do

then my young son came and joined me
t.v. reflected in his eye
this is not what i wanted him to see
and i knew he would ask me why

how can i ever explain

that the world is made of
all the blessings this life brings
