About the song
This song is an adaptation of 'Scarborough Fair' off our demo, '...a Glimpse.' Irene, lead vocals, wrote it for Kristin, vocals, in 2003. Kris always loved 'Scarborough Fair' and longed to perform it since childhood. Irene wanted to fulfill this dream for Kris, but also felt that the song ought to be tailored to fit Revel Moon's sound. Irene combined some of the original lyrics of the song with lines from Kris's prose as well as her own compositions and 'Back to the Fair' was born. Kris sings lead on this one. This track was recorded at AMi Studio and really emulates our live sound--the instrumentation was all recorded in one pass. As an interesting side note, this is an officially copyrighted adaptation--just like Simon and Garfunkle's.
Lyrics
Are you going to Scarborough Fair?
Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme
Remember me to one who lives there
He was once a true love of mine

Tell him to find me an acre of land
Parsley
You want me
Sage
Is forever
Rosemary
I love you
And Thyme
Stay with me
My body aches for the touch of your hand
Can you be a true love of mine?

Love imposes impossible tasks
Parsley
You want me
Sage
Is forever
Rosemary
I love you
And Thyme
Stay with me
Will you want me without my mask?
Can you be a true love of mine?

Have him make me a cambric shirt
Parsley
You want me
Sage
Is forever
Rosemary
I love you
And Thyme
Stay with me
Without a seam or fine needlework
Then he'll be a true love of mine

Come to me my hand for to ask
Parsley
Our passion
Sage
Is forever
Rosemary
Lasting
And Thyme
Eternally
In the glow of true love we bask
If you'll be a true love of mine

Parsley
Our Passion
Sage
Is forever
Rosemary
Lasting
And Thyme
Eternally

Are you going to Scarborough Fair?
