About the song
Back in 1987, had a few brief relationship with some girls... I put in 110%, they put in 10%. The effort on my part was all there, but they were, uhm... lights are on, nobody home. Still, it was difficult to realize I was looking for the wrong type of relationship, wrong kind of woman. And then I found my wife. :)
Lyrics
If I could only keep you,
Wouldn't let that cold wind take your smile away,
And I'd never leave you,
When the rest turn away,

You're moving on,
Will I be letting go,
And as you slowly fade away I'll wonder,
Would you have said no?

In a whisper,
A quiet cry inside,
Things I didn't say,
Will come my way,

The truth comes out (were you the one),
My heart will search (were you the one),
The tears come down (were you the one),
You won't come back (were you the one).
