I have trouble admitting that I could be a fool, so I wrote this song to say, "Hey buddy, I'm no fool." I always picture a woman sitting at a bar when she is approached by a man who is very smooth talking. Another side of the story is that you might think that by saying "I'm no fool," the woman actually is a fool and is actually falling for the man, but just doesn't want him to know it.
