Stock market fears are raging. My song about 'Black Mondays .... Fridays'' to come, and the people in charge who are chompin' on their fingernails as Halloween approaches!.

Lyrics
WE'RE GONNA HAVE A SCARY HALLOWEEN!

Music, lyrics, vocals by Mike Nobel, Gorham, ME

I:
The frost is gleaming on a pumpkin's eyes
This Halloween, we have a surprise
They've played a trick, we're losing our treats
Ghouls are running the economy
We're gonna have a scary Halloween

II:
In the cold wind of uncertainty
People watch with chattering teeth
As stocks and bonds and securities
Tumble down like Autumn leaves
Along the dark and eries streets
Hungry creatures hunt for sweets ....

III:
See that cat just lurking there
Where the oil companies make their lair
Haven't they given us quite a scare
Finding out what the market will bear
AHHHH, their smiles are broad and bright,
They've had their fun this Mischief Night

IV:
Oooohhhh, oooohhhh, oooohhhh,
The witches mix their brew
A pinch of fear, a dash of panic
Essence of the ship, Titanic
Yummmm, yummmm, yummmm,
And when their soup is done
They'll serve it up in cups and kegs
And the empty shells of your nest eggs

V:
See the politicians looking worried
As into the costume shops they scurry
Politicians, when things get rough
They know two faces aren't enough

VI:
Economists with knitted brows
Watch the gathering thunder clouds
Guardians of the American Dream,
But they don't know which way to lean
And in their huddles you can hear them scream,
We're gonna have a scary Halloween!

VII:
High on a hill, silhouetted in the moon
A mangy wolf sings a mournful tune
Soon he'll be growling at your door, saying,
"Howwww would you like to be poor?"
He'll huff, and puff, and scratch, and claw
And will your house of bricks turn into straw!?

VIII:
The frost is gleaming on a pumpkin's eyes
This Halloween, we have a surprise
They've played a trick, we're losing our treats
Ghouls are running the economy
We're gonna have a scary Halloween
We're gonna have a scary Halloween!
