About the song
Written for Diana Mangano, singer for The Jefferson Starship.. I met Diana at a Jefferson Starship concert in Virginia.. she was fantastic and I told her I'd write a song for her..

This version is a "live 4 track" recording with Meagan and myself.. initially to be presented to the whole band for their musical input.. Our wonderful keyboard player, Lynette Brawer, died in a fire before we expanded the song instrumentally and vocally..

But we wanted to put what we have on the internet for people to listen to.. dedicated to Diana and in memory of Lynette..

Lyrics
STARSHIP DIANA

There was magic for a while
And there was magic in her smile
Her long bonny hair flowing down
As we were enraptured by the sound

Jefferson Starship was flying above
Songs of space, revolution and love
I know I'm a dreamer like St. Charles and Pooh
The White Rabbit believes in miracles too

Pretty Diana - angel in the lights
Heavenly voice floating thru the night
To soothe the running wolves in the wild
Capture the heart of the rock and roll child

Gemini princess from the countryside
With Lather she found a starship to ride
Constellations turn around her in the sky
She takes us to where the dreamscape lies

Pretty Diana - angel in the lights
Heavenly voice floating thru the night
To soothe the running wolves in the wild
Capture the heart of the rock and roll child
