About the song
I had just broken up from my first real relationship. My home situation was falling apart. I was turning to things like promiscuous sex and alcohol to deal and it was only making me feel worse. I wrote this to reflect my internal landscape at the time, but it isn't as depressing as you might think.
The piano bookends are songs that never developed beyond the fetal stage. I'm very proud of the tune, the piano, and the vocal performance.
