I wrote the original lyric for this song and recorded it in the space of a few days to have something fitting to enter into the 2008 American Idol Songwriting Contest. The melody had been written to another lyric earlier not realizing that another composer had already laid claim to the lyric. More recently, I adapted the lyric to work as a wedding anniversary song, but I also feel it could express the gratitude we feel toward anyone who has played a major role in our lives and helped inspire what we have become.
