About the song
Filled in for a friend as a prep cook in a nice restaurant for a few days and wrote this (admittedly snobbish) song. Got my come-uppance later when I had to do this same job-- twice. In greasy spoons, too. Yucch!
Lyrics
My mom'll tell ya I'm a pretty good kid
But she don't know 'bout half the things that I did
And now I'm workin' at a job that I hate--
I'm the Dishwasher Boy.

I got a car that uses 'way too much gas
And a home life that's a pain in the ass
I'm either workin' or I'm sleepin' too late
I'm the Dishwasher Boy

(chorus)
Boring, boring (4x)

Now there are lots of things I'd much rather do
Like hangin' out and then there's partyin' too
And there's the time-consuming search for a mate
For the Dishwasher Boy.

(Chorus, with counterpoint)
Boring, boring/I feel like I am 'way too old
Boring. boring/I do my work and I go home
Boring, boring/I'm like a slave that's bought and sold
Boring, boring

(Repeat first verse)
