The Mangle
Hammond organ & synth based vocal track. Akin to the work of William Orbit; a slow but short voyage through hard times..but don't let that put you off!

About the song
Its about the state of things really. The older I get the more messed up everything seems to be. Not personally I might add....just the state of things...and now I'm repeating myself.
The lyrics for this track were written quite a few years ago and I seem to remember that it was my 'take' on the Northern Ireland situation, as was. The lyrics are observational, not political.

Lyrics
The Mangle
When men in the cloth
Say they’re appalled by the deed
Don’t forget they’re the ones
Who fired up the creed.
For a few small beliefs
They invest in their grief
There’s nothing as important
As the laying of the wreath.
Smalltown desolation
Eating from a chippy van
In this ringpull Armageddon
You’ll get it where you can.
When all you see abroad
Is the same you see at home
The same old billboards screaming
Out their advertising drone.
When men in the cloth
Say they’re appalled by the deed
Don’t forget they’re the ones
Who fired up the creed.
For a few small beliefs
They invest in their grief
There’s nothing as important
As the laying of the wreath.
Smalltown desolation
Eating from a chippy van
In this ringpull Armageddon
You’ll get it where you can.
When all you see abroad
Is the same you see at home
The same old billboards screaming
Out their advertising drone.
