About the song
I became entranced by Heinrich Isaac's "Innsbruck, ich muss dich lassen" while studying "Music of the Renaissance" at Rutgers. The following semester, I studied "Music of the Baroque" and was inspired to arrange Isaac's song for basso continuo form. I preserved Isaac's top and bottom melodies in the flute and cello respectively, and I composed a new continuo part for harpsichord.
