Lyrics
The Day Grows Long
© 2004 Jeff Oestreich

Fight beyond the walls
Desperate note
Reveals the consequence
Time is running out
The fear is gone

Bullet to the head
On the spot
Of the famous motorcade
Night turns into day
So far away

And the day grows long
When you're waiting for a sign of hope to come along
And the day grows long
Do you find it hard to get the strength to carry on

Gazing at the news
I've got it all figured out
There's too many people with too many doubts
Take a little ride on a subway train
Watch the pretty bodies they stay out of the rain
They all hope to find
The end of the line

Breaking time when nothing seems to fit
Silhouette of juries that acquit me
Allowing me to see the light of day
Celebrating pain beyond my years
Making up for space in the in-between
Can't you see that there is nothing left
