About the song
Sometimes a quiet Sunday morning can offer reflection. I've been messing around with this idea on the acoustic guitar for a couple of weeks and then along one Sunday in a quiet moment the words just came out quick and furious. I had previewed this song to some but have redone it recently to include strings and a tighter production. Influences here are Elliot Smith, Simon and Garfunkel, and Paul McCartney. Instruments include acoustic guitar and strings.
Lyrics
She whispers softly
As her perfume starts to fade
And I’m floating away

An awkward silence
Makes the cool breeze hesitate
And I’m glad she will stay

Dawn awaits
Will she still be by my side
When I awake - yea

Morning sun
Don’t melt away
What’s just begun
Umm Hmm

This part is easy
As I silently repeat
I’ve been down this road before

But in her eyes I see
A place I’ve never been
Just outside my shuttered door

New love
Don’t want to come down
New day
