About the song
This is a reinterpretation of a song written by Jimbo Chapman and recorded by his group, Craven Melon, originally released on their last CD, The Great Procrastinator. We think you will agree that the song was meant to have a female lead, and an all acoustic arrangement.

This is one of the few songs that Alysson did many, many takes for. At least 10 different versions were recorded, from pure country to pure folk and everything in between. The final mix really put the best parts of all genres together.
Lyrics
Just because I hide my eyes doesn't mean I'm crying
And just as sure as winter comes shouldn't mean my love is dying
You can feel the sun shining down even in December

I see a candle flickering, it lights the room inside me
And I've watched you while you sleep, like heaven was beside me
And now that we both sleep alone I hope you still remember

And the best part of all the reason I called
I found your silk sunflowers
And it's been a while since I've seen you smile
You gave me silk sunflowers

I search for something beautiful, and in you I found my shelter
A memory that's torn and dry can still hold us together
And if you say stay with me, my love, I will surrender

And the best part of all the reason I called
I found your silk sunflowers
And it's been a while since I've seen you smile
You gave me silk sunflowers

Falling wings and broken dreams will always be behind you
And the promise we made long ago, I hope these will remind you

And the best part of all the reason I called
I found your silk sunflowers
And it's been a while since I've seen you smile
You gave me silk sunflowers
