Band/artist history
I learned to play the guitar at age 14. I took lessons in Mel Bay, jazz, and classical. I began playing in bands at age 15. I studied classical guitar for three semesters of at Louisiana State University. After college, I went on a word-wide (Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama) tour with the remnants of a legendary Baton Rouge, Louisiana-based cover band called "Isosceles Popsicle." I taught myself to play keyboards, bass, and drums. I learned from the keyboardist how I could use sequencing to write songs. I began using a DOS version of Cakewalk in the mid 90's. A couple of years later, I upgraded to Cakewalk Pro Audio 6.0. I've accumulated 2 CDs of original songs, which I'm collectively calling "Check the world." All but one song are in rough form. In October 2003, I hired Louisiana producer and engineer Pershing Wells to record additional tracks for, mix, and master one of the foregoing songs, "Fly the world (reprise)."
Your musical influences
Edward Van Halen, although his influence is probably not evident in my smooth jazz offerings. Lee Ritenour. I have also picked up a few things from Eric Johnson, Steve Lukather, Neal Schon, the swamp pop musicians of Gonzales, Louisiana, and many others who've made interesting sounds from musical instruments.
