About the song
Horror and beauty and how they could co-exist. I will never be the same.............The photo on the album cover is of an alley in the camp where thousands of young women were shot and killed. Two lone carnations hung in the chain that restricted access and with the setting afternoon sun provided a startling image of hope amidst ruin. I took the photo myself............
Lyrics
Slowly they came, herded like sheep
Sharing one pain, but no time to weep..

Ravensbruck...beauty and pain
Ravensbruck...remember again, the tears last forever........

Cold break of day, up from their sleep
March in the rain, no shoes on their feet

Chorus

Instrumental (Spoken Word Passage):

Ravensbruck was a concentration camp in WWII...
92,00 women died there
Medical experiments were performed on the women which led to its notoriety...........
As I visited there, I was struck by the contrast of the beautiful natural scenery and the horrific things that happened there....
May they rest in peace.................

Verse 1

Chorus

Bridge - Fade
