I wrote this somewhere around 2 and a half years ago and recorded a demo of it on my old 4-track, this is a better version (there will eventually be vocals, and a solo).

About the song
I came up with this while goofing around and liked it but didn't know what to do with it, so I kept playing around with it thinking I'd use it to jam with a band if I ever joined one. But then I wrote some lyrics while sitting in class that were simple, but meaningful, and later I realized that they'd fit the music perfectly. So the second I got home I tried it out, and it worked. I recorded a demo on my old 4-track tape recorder, this is my second demo of it, better sounding (the first didn't have bass, and was overall crappy sounding). The lyrics seen here were written recently to fit better with the music as I didn't like the sound of the original lyrics/melody in the song.
Lyrics
You ask what you can't have
It's not a question of despair
You know you can't have everything
It's just a simple trick of fate
You try to bring me down
It's pitiful how you can not relate

Chorus:
You won't let go
You won't give up
I can't help you now
This isn't what you want
You can't hold back
This thing that's in you

I wish that you could ask yourself
What's missing in your life now
I wish that you could see what
You are losing out on this time
I know you can't help yourself
I wish you'd help me to see you
I wish that you'd find a cure
That you'd be back to how you should be

Chorus

Bridge:
This is not a question
Of how you lived your life
This is not a choice
Or sacrifice
This is not a lesson
Learned again with time
This is just a simple answer
The question isn't mine

Solo

Chorus x 2
