About the song
Ron Mann wrote the lyrics for Answers and I did the arrangement and vocals/guitar. Mac Steagall did a great job on bass guitar, and Dave once again brought it all together with his keyboards.
Lyrics
Verse1
Locked away inside this dungeon
I've created in my mind
Looking for the hidden stairway
I've got to find it in my time
Once I finally reach the crossroads
Can you show me where to go
I'll be waiting at your pedestal
That's if you ever show
Verse2
Am I just a lowly parasite
A scavenger, crashing the show
A shade to right the many pieces
Scattered forth, high and low
The pinnacle of all our reason
Time's a part not painted in
Give one stance for the reflection
Let us start where you begin
Chorus
Why's the answers to the questions
Never what we want to hear
The motivation of our existence
Is to ignore our lonely fears
Verse3
So may we learn this lesson
Taught for fools who wander by
Taking heed to judgements writing
Ignore the wicked demon's cry
Once I finally reach the crossroads
Can you show me where to go
I'll be waiting for your footsteps
That's if you ever show
Chorus
Why's the answers to the questions
Never what we want to hear
The driving force of our existence
Is to ignore our lonely fears
Locked away inside this dungeon
I've created in my mind
Looking for the hidden stairway
I've got to find it in my time
Once I finally reach the crossroads
Can you show me where to go
I'll be waiting at your pedestal
That's if you ever show
