About the song
I recently lost my father, Larry D. Smith, back in December of 2001 due to heart failure.
He was an inspiration to me in more ways than one. He had a voice like an angel,
which was another one of God's precious gifts bestowed upon me, to have a
Father and Mother that could stand in front of hundreds and sing about the love of God.
In my childhood my Dad was the song director of our church in Memphis, Tn.
To this day I can still see him standing behind the podium waving his hands
leading the song service. When he sang his voice carried so strongly through-out
the room. I grew up playing and singing with he and my Mom, always doing radio programs
every Sunday for years, then on to Church. Up until a month before he died we were still
getting together and singing some of the old songs we used to do. He could sing
a Rusty Goodman song and the birds would stop just to listen. A few of my favorites
he and Mom always sang were "Who Am I","Born To Die" and "He Touched Me"
I was so blessed to have him as my Dad, and I miss him, but I know that he's with
the Lord now, singing in that angel choir. I know he's there, and one day I'll be reunited
with him again. So in memory of my father, this song goes especially to him.

Lyrics
Steve W. Smith - I Know You're There
This song is dedicated to the memory of Steve's
dad, Larry D. Smith 1932 - 2001
I can't wait to see you're face
And put my arms around you
And tell you just how much, I love you
And in my prayers at night
I hope you can hear
Just how much, I miss you
(chorus)
Cause I know you're there
And I know you believed
And when you see me coming
You'll be smiling at me
I know you're there
And when that day arrives
I'll see reflections of angels, in your eyes
I know you're there
I'm certain that you feel
That life on earth was worth it
Worth the wait to walk, where you are
And when my time is done
I'll be there to join you
And I won't have to look, too far
(repeat chorus)
