About the song
The harmony vocal on this track was written and recorded at 2am one night, using a cutting edge technique I developed myself, of attempting to sing loud enough to register on the recording equipment without actually waking the neighbours. I planned to re-record it in the morning, but when it came to it, I found to my surprise that I couldn't be bothered. That's the level of professionalism we're dealing with here.
Lyrics
The weight of the world lies on the shoulders of one so weak,
The game of the nation is hide and seek,
The fallen give up and die, what price happiness,
Succeed and then give a sigh, can't give less.

Goodbye to all that I have hoped for today,
Goodbye to all I can't afford,
I'll see you when the world starts crumbling away,
Goodbye to all I deserve.

No effort will bring success, no time for those left behind,
The world will dispossess its mastermind,
Too happy to stand and watch, forget what has gone before,
Too little is way too much, time can't restore.

Goodbye to all that I have hoped for today,
Goodbye to all I can't afford,
I'll see you when the world starts crumbling away,
Goodbye to all I deserve.

What's the reward for deeds and emptiness,
When will I get what is due,
'Cause life is hard in my house of cards,
In the wind, in the wind.

Goodbye to all that I have hoped for today,
Goodbye to all I can't afford,
I'll see you when the world starts crumbling away,
Goodbye to all I deserve,
Goodbye to all I deserve.
