About the song
This is the first song that Jason and I co-wrote together. Jason lived in a home for assisted living (he had a degenerative muscle disease which paralyzed him from the neck down) and was the resident pastor/counselor. A new woman came to live there around the '97 time frame. This woman had committed a horrible crime (but was thought to be insane) but was in need of massive physical therapy due to injuries. Jason's assignment was to comfort this woman and to share faith with her. What a task! "Lord, please, please let your love flow through me".
Lyrics
People in sorrow and pain
Jesus, I can hear their cries
But I am so weak in myself
How can I heal other lives (how can I heal lives?)
Lord, help me to do what I can't do
I'm weak, but my strength comes from You

Lord, teach me to touch somebody's life
Wipe away their tears with gentle hands
I want to see people through Your eyes
To show them I understand
Let Your love flow through me
Let Your love flow through me

Your strength is shown in my weakness everyday
Visits men in prison cells
Gives water to the thirsty, O Lord
Feeds those who can't feed themselves (feed themselves)
Lord, help me to do what I can't do
I'm weak, but my strength comes from You
