About the song
This is a biographical story by Jason (majority of lyrics) set to the music of Kitty Hart, with the arrangement by Steve Cass. Jason tells of how he had walked away from God at one time, but felt this huge weight of responsibility for his actions in life. It got to be more than he could bear. So he made the decision to 'fly to the fountain of grace for healing' his relationship again with God. Among other places in scripture the idea of a fountain of cleansing water offered by God can be found in Zechariah 13:1: "On that day a fountain will be opened to the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to cleanse them from sin and impurity."
Walked away from you again
Far from the one who makes me strong
Empty heart and empty hands
I'll never last this way for long
Under the weight of my dispair
This shame is more than I can bear

So I fly to the fountain
Run beneath the cleansing stream
You wash away my sin
Holy water healing me
I fly to the fountain
I fly to the fountain
I fly to the fountain for healing

Forgot how faithful You are
Loving me though I turn away
I have heard You in my heart
So tenderly calling out my name
Weak and alone I come again
You're always there to take me in
