About the song
This song has gone through a LOT of evolutions. The original intent was something more new age in the lyric: "In the silence, near the center of our souls..." We've used the chorus in our Sunday worship services as a "gloria". I rewrote the verses several times until I settled on the current version.
I LOVE the "Peter Townsend-like" guitar Randy added on the verse transition!

Lyrics
Chorus:
Praise God from the highest mountain.
Praise God from the deepest sea.
Praise God all the people.
Glory to God you are holy!
All creation longs to give you praise.
Forest, faun and flower yearns to give you praise.
Ain't no rock gonna cry out, or mountain take our place.
We lift our voices and shout with joy.
Holy God to you we raise our praise.
(Chorus)
In the desert, Your presence brought the rain.
The water turned to dry ground when Pharaoh's armies came.
You filled the world with treasures, such a wondrous display.
Your grace and mercy lets the joy rise in our hearts today!
(Chorus 3X's)
