About the song
This song attempts an explanation of:

"But why do bad things happen?
Things we would never request?
Why do we sometimes get the world’s worst
Instead of God’s best?"

The explanation is not universal, but does cover some situations.
Lyrics
v.1
Jesus taught believing so people could understand
How to make things happen how to accomplish ... on demand.
We can tell a mountain to be cast into the sea.
And if we won’t doubt in our heart what we believe ... will be.

But why do bad things happen? Things we would never request?
Why do we sometimes get the world’s worst ... instead of God’s best?
Well, if we won’t use what Jesus taught and control what we believe,
There’s another law that kicks in to govern what we receive.

c.1
It’s the law of default believing and as the name implies,
It’s what we believe when we make no effort to believe otherwise.

v.2
Hezekiah was a great one a humble Judean king.
And when he was sick and dying God granted a healing.
But Hezekiah never thanked the Lord, a very subtle sin.
And that was pride by default bringing problems to his nation.

Default believing waits in the wings ready to run our life
If we don’t operate believing that was taught by Jesus Christ.
So that’s how default believing works ... it’s how life can seem futile,
When we stop deciding what we believe, when we put ourselves in neutral.

c.2
It’s the law of default believing and as the name implies,
It’s what we believe when we make no effort to believe otherwise.

(coda)
But Jesus revealed the secret of how to receive.
It’s clear that he intended for believers to believe.

========some key scripture==========
Mark 11:23-34
"23For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them."

2 Chronicles 32:34-35
"24 In those days Hezekiah was sick to the death, and prayed unto the LORD: and he spake unto him, and he gave him a sign.
25 But Hezekiah rendered not again according to the benefit done unto him; for his heart was lifted up: therefore there was wrath upon him, and upon Judah and Jerusalem."
