About the song
Adapted from a traditional African-American song about escaping from slavery. The "paddarollers" were actually patrollers, armed posses who hunted down runaway slaves. Anne Price adds back-up vocals on the choruses. Jody Kolodzey adds a third vocal part to the codas.
