About the song
This song ponders what can take place after death. It was a stand-alone poem written by my brother that I had for about 6 years before I added a verse the the start and the finish and put music to it.
Lyrics
Who Will Be Waiting?
When I was a little child I felt the guilt without the trial.
As I grew I learned to sin and confusion walked right in.
I never knew inside my heart how near the end was to the start.
I dreamed a dream how it could be but I had to keep my feet
Down on the ground.

Who will be waiting for me
When the light of day I can no longer see?
When I journey to the other side
Will it be a wild ride?
Down to that fearful place of brimstone and fire
Face the face of the Prince of Liars
Will I writhe and burn in agony
My pain his evil ecstasy
Or will I float so lazily to the kingdom that so many seek?
To be judged by the Holy Three
While I wait upon my knees
For a blessing and a pair of wings.
Halo and a voice to sing.
Or could I remain where I lie
Maggots and worms instead of eyes?
No light or sound or breath of air
All alone in the darkness seems so unfair for After all I surely must
Whither and rot and turn to dust.
My destiny no one can see
Until the day they bury me
Down in the ground.

Now I've grown into a man I try to do the best I can.
I know that each pasing day adds a little more to the price I'll pay.
Banish this uncertainty I've done unto others and I've walked free.
I never wanted it to be
Worse for any other than it was for me
Down in the ground.
