About the song
It may be a while before I title this one, but it's part of a series and there's no point in uploading parts 2, 3, etc. unless the first part's up, right? This one's basically a mood setter and introduction, hence why there isn't a lot of thematic material until near the end. I'll have to give the series a name, which will probably end up being used for this track since it introduces what will be one of the main themes (which makes an appearance in the next track). Either that or I'll just end up calling it Opus somenumber for lack of verbal creativity.
This is partially algorithmic. Yay for being able to get algorithmic output that actually sounds halfway decent! The chord progressions were generated via an L-system with context-sensitive post-processing that I wrote myself using Haskell and its Haskore music package. Everything else was done manually.
Some of the samples I used were from freesound.org, licensed under creative commons. They are credited below.

You may...
- Use this track for non-profit projcts, such as background music to a video. If your project is displayed to the public (including videos uploaded to sites like youtube), you must include a link to this song's soundclick page. This is necessary for correct sample attribution.
You may NOT...
- Host the unaltered audio recording on another website unless it is part of some larger project (like a video). I consider videos that just have a placeholder image with no other visual content to be unaltered audio recordings, since there is no significant visual content.

I also request that anyone who wants to use this track for a project e-mail me if possible to let me know that it's being used for something. I have given you permission here for non-profit personal projects, but I just like to know where my music gets around.
