Upbeat Rocker. Really one of the band's better songs. Only about 3 minutes. Ends way too soon.

About the song
Most of the music for this song was written by Mike, Paul and Jim when Ron was working in Chicago. It came together originally including the slow bridge originally slated to be in Cheese and Wine but wound up in the song 1000. After the bridge split for 1000, the rest of the song was shelved until late 95 when Mike and Jim put together the format . Mike supplied the image creating lyrics, inspired by memories of Evel Knievel jumping the Snake River Gorge in his rocket powered vehicle. Interesting note: Since "Snake River Gorge" doesn't exactly roll off the tongue, Mike substituted "Grand Canyon".
Lyrics
You think that you're the only one who can stop the cycle,
Don't kid yourself man its beyond our control,
You've got to make the decision before the collision,
Then you can reach the promised land.

If you want the power of the man there is one thing you can do,
Pay your money at the counter put your power in your holster,
You can make the decision before the collision,
Then you can reach the promised land.

Every night in my dreams he rode,
The great grand canyon episode my friend,
Machines in the air of my youth,
The farthest flight - what speed to achieve.
