- I loved the piano chords and sax! The way you placed the piano chords is perfect and just as I would have done it myself. The FX-sounds lift the song even higher. To pick on anything:
I kind of wished for another bassline, a teasier one and maybe a slap every now and again!
City Nights – Urban Life!
- This is a true piece of Jazz...The accoustic drums and upright bass is killing me, wonderful!
This one could easily be a theme in a movie...Imagine the chased criminal walking thru an alley, hiding from the cops............eventually he get’s shot, and an applause takes us to the next song which is:
Classic Definition – We’re on the stage here!
Beatiful Jazz/ Funk with a Spanish feel to it. The Drums are wicked and what can I say, you even got the old HH-samples to sound purely proffessional. Big Thumb up!
Quiet Corners – Time to make love!
The guitar intro is just so beatiful...amazing. And when the muted trumpet kicks in i’m almost in tears, jesus man! I don’t know the exact word for it in English, but to give you a visual: My arms are pretty hairy, and it stands right up...WOW!
Saints and Sinners – Fusion time!
This one is a bit difficult....until the vocals kicks in, then it falls to place! It’s a kind of “In-between-song”, and by that I mean: It’s like on a concert where you been hooked from track one....then comes this tune that is kind of cool but still gives you a chance to visit the bar for a quicky ;)
Soaring Byrd – And Donald was his brother....!
This is maybe the best track in my opinion, maybe not the most exciting one, but still the most...perfect! Everything fits together, not a black hole anywhere...the bass is superb!
Summertime – Cut me up baby!
This was a crazy little thing...not sure what to think of it. You never give me a chance to completely dislike a song, cos there’s always elements in your tracks that I like. Your drumwork and saxophonelicks for example, nothing could beat that!
Think – Say what?
What’s he saying? –Doesn’t matter anyway, cos you decided to get loose on the rhodes...Thank you for that! I’m a Fender Rhodes fan and wouldn’t do music at all if I was forbidden to use it. I liked this track alot...it has an appealing groove to it, doesn’t it?
Throw back – Percussive grooves!
Top class! F***ing wonderful Jazz Funk/ Acid Jazz, Nuff Said!
Whisper in my ear – Memories, sweet annoying memories!
I remember you sent this track to me over e-mail....I loved this track from listen one, especially the drums! Ever since I first heard it i’ve tried to copy the drumloops without any success. Damn you boy! This one of my favourite tracks of all time, well known and famous artists included. This is really, really good.
Jazz thing – Hell Yeah!
Wicked all over! A kind of Mission Impossible theme on acid, wierd but genius. Sometimes the most simple bassline can be the most imporatant thing in a song, this track has everything a Jazz/ Funk lover could wish for!
Brave Momentum – She’s a model and she’s looking good!
- Try to sing that phrase in the beginning! This track is also top notch, I rate this very good.
It has a rare blend of latino vibe, aswell as a little bit of 80s in it.....Mmmmmmmmmmmm!
Funkhouse party – Get up, get down!
At this point I started to doubt myself again.....Very nice production, lovely brass licks and once again a great piece of Soulfunk!
Gone to Market – Bootsy baby.......
R2D2 on lead vocals in this Phuture funkster....Man, you’re to good for your own good!
Ever thought of giving up teaching and go for a full time music carreer?
Jazzolepsy – You’re giving me epilepsy!
I’ve been infront of the puter for several hours now, listening to your album. I got home from work around four, it’s now nine-thirty and i’m done reviewing your album.
It’s been 5 and a half hours of pure joy! I recommend everyone I know to download this album, cos most of my friends are into this kind of music. I have the luxury to live in a town where this type of music is popular and get’s played on clubs and radio. In my opinion you have what it takes to go far, but I know the competition in London is pretty tough to say the least.....Anyway, Thanks for a good time and yet another lesson in music making!
