The guitar part is soothing and light, a simplistic strum that finds itself sounding like so much more. I'm always pleased when an artist can make acoustic guitar and vocals sound like a full plate.
Vocally, this guy has the perfect voice for folk music. It blends with the sound of the guitar, providing balance for this track. Lyrics are a plus too, and Frank Williamson has them too.
It took a lot of work
to make our little problems big
when you wake up in a hole
the one thing you shouldn't do is dig
I guess I just need
that sensation of speed
I feel right before I hit the wall
the jig is up I'm just
waitin for the axe to fall
Well written, well performed, and produced to high standards, "Waiting For The Ax To Fall" is definitely a track to be reckoned with. And if I were you, I'd keep an eye on this Frank Williamson fellow.
