Up Front & Personal With Rowlett, Texas' Alternative Rock Artist: SW!TCH
You call yourself a Yankee. For those who do not know "Sw!tch" tell your viewers where you are actually from?

"I am from New England. I was born in Leominster, Massachusetts 1968 and raised in Fitchburg, Massachusetts; both cities are just west of Boston, somewhat close to the New York state line."

Tell the viewers about your parents and siblings if any? Where is everyone from?

"My Father; Arnold, use to be a semi-truck driver for a company called "Gotham" and yes, the company's name is just like the city in the "Batman" movies, then he became a heavy, diesel mechanic. He has been doing this for as long as I can remember. My mother; Frances, is a twin and her brother is also named Francis. My mom has several other brothers and one sister. Mom doe not have a 9 to 5 job; she has always been a stay-at-home wife. My parents still live in Leominster and in March, they will be celebrating their 42nd wedding anniversary. As for siblings, I have only an older sister; Patricia, who on January 31st will be 42 years-old. Patty is re-married and her husband's name is Artie. My sister has 2 boys T.J. and Zachary from a previous marriage, both in their twenties and they all live in New Hampshire".

When did you first realize that you could sing and how did it start?

"As far back as I can remember; I've always loved music. I grew up in the 70's listening to my mom's old school music. She would, without stop play Patsy Cline, Freddy Fender, Linda Ronstadt, Cher, and Brenda Lee while she did house work and what have you.

Throughout all of my school years, each time, I was chosen for the school's choruses and choirs.

My first year of Junior High; the music director hand selected me out of dozens of other talented students to do a solo song, performing; Debbie Boone's "You Light Up My Life" for a school talent show. I still remember that day vividly. Man, I was scared shitless standing on stage; the auditorium was filled with a few hundred people, at the time it felt like a gazillion people. I never messed up. I was very proud of myself, especially when I got the standing ovation for that performance. Sadly, my parents were not there to see the show or the over-all audience response.

In the late 80's, while in high school, my older sister, a bunch of friends and me would hangout after school or on weekends, park our cars in a circle, turn on the headlights like stage spotlights, then tune all our car radios into the same station, and then we cranked our sound systems. I guess that was our version of "surround sound" back in the day. We'd all stand in the center of the circle and take turns singing. After awhile, for some reason, I was the only one in the group; they wanted to sing whenever we got together."

You mentioned that your parents did not attend your Jr. High talent show. Was there a reason for them not being there and did you ever receive any type of support from them?

"True, my parents did not show up. I wanted them to attend, that was a high-light for me, singing solo. I knew why my dad wasn't there. He was working as usual. Dad was the families only "Bread & Butter" source, as for my mom; I have absolutely no idea why she did not come, nor did she ever say why she did not show up. I am being presumptuous here but, I believe it was because she and I did not have a mother and daughter relationship, like she has with my sister. To this day, she and I are still lack that mother and daughter relationship." Sw!tch paused for a moment or two to recollect, before she continued to the last question. "Family support Hmmm? Sadly; but truthfully I can answer this question. The answer is No. I have never received any kind of blessing or positive support from either of my parents, nor from my sister. I had to seek that from outside sources; other than my family members.
