Stripped Down (And Searching)
Now here's a title that will attract me interest. Down naughty goblin!! Begone from this page.....

I know nothing about this artist, which is not always the best place to start but its often a place I find myself in so let's get to it. Stripped Down is indeed a spare little track, not much meat on its bones as it were. What texture is given to the song is given by acoustic guitars, a lone electric strum and the vocal with the odd dab of strings to inject little decorations here and there, Doesn't sound like much of a dish when its all laid out like that eh? All black and white and everything. However, the songs appeal isn't really centered on the music; the real trick is in the laconic - almost disinterested - vocal and the biting lyrics that go along with it.

This combination really saves this song immeasurably, raising its sights quite dramatically once you realise where the track is heading. Full of wrenching emotion and DIY sound that in ways, echo the earlier solo works of John Lennon. Not that Paul has the Lennon tonsils but he certainly can make a track sit up and take notice and that is what its all about. The more I played this track the more I realised two things: I didn't particularly like the style but I did like (very much) the final effect. I also think the emphasis put on the 'story' being told is one of this tracks central aces in the hole. A surprisingly assertive track lies beneath its rough looking exterior be careful how you handle it.

It's also, as it happens, a very 'modern' sound these days - witness the UK's Xmas No 1 this year. Angst is IN!!

Soundclick Review: Stripped Down And Searching
Listening to this one, I cannot quite categorize what musical influence this artist has... Beatles? Neil Young? Heck, there are others I could think of.

The production and musical presentation on this tune is just nothing but excellent. (Judge for yourself!) ....

Love the vocals... the vocalist actually feels/is the song. I am very impressed by the singer.

A string sample kicks into this 3:07 (very short song, well done!) which adds to the flair of this song. This is followed imediately by a very nice sounding, well fitting lead guitar solo.

Most of all, I am impressed by this artist's/band's feel for music. It moves you. No matter what the genre, I believe that Paul Tedeschi is one of the few who could actually make it in the music world. No matter how large or samll the audience.

Very smooth tune indeed!!! I recommend a listen!!!
