Damn man the lyrics are sick! I got a special place in my heart for antiestablishment rap. but.....
you lost so much meaning thru yo delivery. I feel the whole Hiero influence, (u from oakland?) but when you use that del/souls extended line technique you gotta be on point for the following line. you seem to lose your bearings

ex:"administration...admiration" line is off. add a lil filler like "than he brings admiration"
did you write this to a faster beat?
take your time and let the beat carry you don't rush it.
sometimes it may sound like you are being to ridgid but the crispness will smooth out naturally. we naturally have rhythm so structure is more important to us. vice versa for whites.

3 at a time, no Rap or Hip Hop
Man I really like that you have some humor in your stuff, it really reaches a wider audience. You have some serious content with out being preachy about it.

My Religion:
Nice mellow tune and I love the concept of basing it on a relationship with Mary Jane. Some of the lines “still with her” and from the chorus “I can’t let her go. I admit it I’m more sprung then” ? Was it sea paint? I couldn’t get that part. The bit about coming of age, the honeymoon being over and hitting the bride, great twist of words. I Like the underlying duel meanings on many of the lyrics. It has a hateful love theme going on, depending on which side you choose.

At 1:28 a really liked that, it sounded like a symbol crash. It was actually slightly startling, and added a hint of menace to the backdrop which up to then was soooo mellow and safe. Everyone is chilling out all cozy and comfortable, then that little pang of paranoia. Really smooth, I like the lyrics nothing sounds forced and it all seems to fit in nicely. I liked the cut back to what you had in the beginning, on this one it was a fitting conclusion. A lot of thought went into it the lyrics not to mention the performance sounded really clean. It had a good mellow beat and nothing distracts from the vocals. Yeah ok, I really like it. I’m trying to be critical, but couldn’t find anything I would consider wrong or out of place here.

Smith Reviews

It's not often that I get into a Rap or Hip-Hop track, because I usually find the lack of ideas a little stereotyped, and (usually) in hip-hop I don't hear anything new in terms of production.

This track has way more creativity than I expected. Firstly because of its religious/moral overtones within the lyrics (classic good versus evil), and the brilliant backing vocal choral sound, sophisticated harmonic texures, and the really strong variations to the underlying beat.

The production values are strong, and basically, I can't fault the composition, or the lyrics, or the delivery, or the engineering, or the quality of the performance, or the backing track construction.

I was knocked out by this track, and coming from someone who isn't really from a culture where Hip-hop is common, that's the highest praise I can offer.

Well worth a listen. Immaculate.
