Jenova Hymns
The Road Less Traveled"
I liked the idea of the title alone......the rap verses were ok, as for your voice, I find it very attractive as a listener, I feel that if others heard you they would find great interest, your voice made the song what it is.

"R.I.P"
I always have had a thing for dedications or tributes, I as an MC have a dedicated song to a lost friend........your voice and how you overlaped it in parts really gets the listener deep into the subject and the importance of what the song is about, the rapper also has a very entertainging flow and style, for those who lost close ones its a song that they can attached themselves to.

"I Cry"
Your voice shines in this song, I like the flow you use in the hook, I see listeners being attracted to this song greatly because of your voice in this song.

"Raindrops"
This is personally my favorite song with your voice, the rap verse are ok, maybe you yourself alone on this song would be great, I think you alone on this track would be great becuase your voice the way its used it awsome, but the verses do add a little bit of difference to it so overall its a good song.

That's Entertainment (Cd Collaboration with Kaos of 3rd Infintry)
It's Entertainment

Excerpts from the Review on the songs with TruLaLaFeatuted:

1. The Beat Goes On Beat. It starts nice. Intro is good to jump the album off. I like the female vocals in the backround, maybe too much, but I like it. Hook is nice. The "Female vocalist" makes it all stand out on the hook. The only problem I might hear on this is the mixing on a few lines of the hook. Maybe the reverb is too much or too much panning the adlibs. That's0 my only criticism for this track.

I Remember - WOW. I Remember this track. I do not need to explain anything for this track as far as im concerned. hard-hitting, commercial appeal. This is somethin you have to actually listen to so you can feel the vibe of it. 0nce this track starts playing, you really feel the music and start moving. what I think really makes this track what it is, is "TruLaLa." She def did her job here. Everything in my opinion is sharp. lyrics, flow, delivery, all that technical ish is here. This is most def one of those tracks you just have to listen to. The hook is unbelievable. This is one of those tracks you'd bump in the whip going out on a weekend night or. This is one of my favorite tracks on this album.

3. Never Too Late Beat is dope, Sho-Down sickkness. this track is on the real ish. Kaos verse is real sharp, wow, you def did your part, everythings on point here. hook one of those 'top of the line' type 3rd Infintry hooks. vocals are all on point here. "TruLaLa always does her job properly." This was def a solid, dope track.

4. I'm Moving On Sho-Down beat = sickk. you start the slow flow, sounds nice over the beat.. yea you def rode the beat here, lyrics are on point, yea the flow really rides here, i like the melodic vibe you did with your flow, def on point. hook is one of those 'top' hooks again from ya'll. Damn, again "TruLaLa kills it".much on point here, lyrics are always sharp. Love the hook again. Good track here.

5.Your the One "TruLala again kills it already lol. wow she got some talent." Hook is mindblowing from this girl. she def killin these hooks so far. commercial appeal all around. dopeness. lyrics are hard hitting again as well. Solid track. hook and beat brings this track up alot. mmercial appealing, same mellow type vibe. sounds good over this track man, no complaints. im diggin this track

6. **** Angel Eyes (Not sure if this cut is on the final album) BUT I loved this beat. TruLala again killin it man! damn.. Kaos lyrics are sharp here, but maybe the beat drowns your delivery down. hook is dope, im diggin her vocals on this whole album. hmmmm, sounds like Kaos is spittin over the hook of the beat, maybe thats why it brings your vocals down. but the hook cuts in niice after your verse. everything is on point here. solid track 21. Cant Be Stopped intro is dope. damn this hook is fuckin sickk. i think ya'll are goin back and forth on these verses, sounds dope tho.. everyones delivery is killing this. hook is good and all, but i think it can be mixed better, in the intro it sounded really sharp. good track tho, beat is one of those bangers.

I Cry - Powerful Vocals, not really much to comment
on, its just a powerful song. You remind
me of an artist, but i can't put my finger
       on it at this moment
If It Ain't You Baby - You might wanna try and pan
ya voice out a lil bit, the production was
a lil muddy in the intro. But i must say
you sang this really well. Kinda put ya own
twist on it, sounds more gospel

Mumma - I FF that guys part, but once again you did
ya thing. Kinda reminded me of a early 90s
       R&B set.

Basicly my comments are like the rest
your just down right "good"
I couldn't really pick at much because
your a damned good artist
some of the beats were 'eh
but you laced them well

Keep up the good work
and continue to move foward

[dcallen] 1:09 am: sweet, sweet harmonies!
[SoulSummation] 1:10 am: nice mix underneath too Authist.
[Overseer] 1:10 am: EXCELLENT GROOVE
[dcallen] 1:10 am: Authist always makes a sweet groove...
[SoulSummation] 1:10 am: sure does!
[mOOch] 1:10 am: nice music behind the vox also but maybe would sound a little more fresh with a little more space
to play with. . . there's alot of vox in there
[The Lounge]: wickman has left at 1:10 am
[Promusico] 1:10 am: have it now...great starart, nice voicing
[Promusico] 1:11 am: groovy
[dcallen] 1:11 am: several layers of vocals
[mOOch] 1:11 am: the basic groove is top draw i agree
[dcallen] 1:11 am: the vocals are also very well mixed together
[lisa] 1:11 am: that tune would go far on mtv bass, very good i like alot
[SoulSummation] 1:12 am: agreed mooch. While I love Trulalas voice, she always seems to use the doubling effect,
which can sometimes be just a little to much for the song.
[mOOch] 1:12 am: yeah i know what u saying ben and i agree
[dcallen] 1:12 am: and then add four layers of harmonies....
[SteveGilmore] 1:12 am: I liked the stripped down stuff Authist and Dub One pump out and I like Trulala's voice and -
this time - I think that multi-layering she does with her vocals actually pays. I think this is the first track I've heard
with her on that I've really liked. I thought the groove was excellent; late night radio stuff... It seemed to me to
recorded at very high volume - or the stream I was listening to was a bit loud.... Nice track though...
[Promusico] 1:12 am: Interesting voicing on only one basic chord...
[mOOch] 1:12 am: sometime's a more sparse approach is benifitial
[Overseer] 1:12 am: MEMBERS VIEWS?
[Chrisdrew] 1:13 am: Great vocals from Trulala. Great Sound, great track. Well done Guys
[mOOch] 1:13 am: in this song it would work better i think
[dcallen] 1:13 am: lol
[SteveGilmore] 1:13 am: Ooops, I seem to have prematurely ejaculated
[SoulSummation] 1:13 am: I like the lyrics a lot
[SoulSummation] 1:13 am: lol
[mOOch] 1:13 am: still cool though
[mOOch] 1:13 am: steve u nutcase
[mOOch] 1:14 am: rofl
[SteveGilmore] 1:14 am: Agree with SS, I liked the lyrics too
[Overseer] 1:14 am: Trulala & Authist work well together
[NiP] 1:14 am: Firstly, i have problem with this style of music...just shuts me down..but this does seem to be rather
nicely put together, Trulala's voice is perfect for the style and Authist does have a nice groove pumpin away there..Tru
has some serious emotion in those vocal chords of hers which did perhaps occasionally overshadow other parts, but
a nice track from start to finish. Apologies for not having a Love of this genre....
[Promusico] 1:15 am: Good work
[SoulSummation] 1:15 am: great comments Steve. I think the powerhouse of Authist's groove does mix very well with
the strength of Trulalas voice in this song. they seem to work very well together.
[dcallen] 1:15 am: steve, better here than at home
[ASM-Studio] 1:15 am: Aythist & Trulala work very well together

Friday NIght Review on LIFE. WITH STEVIE KEYZ 4/1/05
[Overseer] 7:43 pm: SIXTH track this week is from Trulala (Jennifer) … this is a first submission from

[SoulSummation] 7:43 pm: Trulala! excelent

[Authist] 7:43 pm: WHOOOOOOOOOOOO

[Authist] 7:43 pm: Great Background...and this is all her...cool

[SoulSummation] 7:44 pm: mmm always a pelasure when Lady Trulala sings...

[Authist] 7:44 pm: Piano sounds a bit 2 sharp for me

[Promusico] 7:44 pm: Voice with music, good start

[Chrisdrew] 7:44 pm: Great Vocals and piano

[SoulSummation] 7:45 pm: the doubling is nice. makes for a fuller sound. though with just the lone

piano.... it almost has an overpowering effect

[Authist] 7:45 pm: The Background sometimes clipps (for me)....but it is a masterpiece

[SoulSummation] 7:45 pm: great emotions here. lyrics are powerful

[Chrisdrew] 7:45 pm: Great soulful voice

[Promusico] 7:45 pm: Interesting voicing.I miss a band behind ,bass ,maybe drums and nice synth

sounds...

[Authist] 7:46 pm: Lyrics are awesome

[Authist] 7:46 pm: I agree...more instruments are needed

[SoulSummation] 7:46 pm: great vocal petterning. she knows how to work her voice to the fullest!

[Chrisdrew] 7:46 pm: Like to hear a big production of this track

[Overseer] 7:46 pm: MEMBERS FEELINGS ON THIS TRACK?

[Guthorm] 7:47 pm: Great R&B vocals... An emotional piano play I can just love... A very good song!

[SoulSummation] 7:47 pm: I think some better production here with the piano (which was played

briliiantly) would make this song even better

[Mr-PsykotiC] 7:47 pm:    but its not my music style

[mOOch] 7:47 pm: Jen's voice is beatuiful, but i feel i must say that this is a case of overdoing

things in the vocal dept. . . . Excellently recorded, but overdone on the production with the vocals. .

. Could be a good song. . . .

[Twist] 7:48 pm: I think its perfect as is. A full band would take away from the vocal line on this

one. The effect I feel was one of the bare piano, with her pouring her spirit out. This was top

nothch emotion wise.

[Mr-PsykotiC] 7:48 pm: ^^

[mOOch] 7:48 pm: emotions are good, but to many voices

[The Lounge]: dcallen has entered at 7:49 pm

[Authist] 7:49 pm: hehe Trulala needs no Choir, she is a Choir LOL

[dcallen] 7:49 pm: what dod I miss?

[ASM-Studio] 7:51 pm: Beautiful voice more instruments are needed

Johannes Mauritzon posted on Wed January 26, 2005
Hi Chris and Jen
I thought it would be appropriate for me to leave alittle message bout "We need to believe" since I've listened to it over 20 times since yesterday.
So here it is:
The song starts of with a moody intro where Trulalas vocal background and spoken word makes the track perfect from the first sec...
When the verse starts Jennys incredible vocals blends with your truly intelligent, wellmade and interesting music and gives the song a real powerful feeling...
And then when the Vocaloid vocal(sounds like that, not sure though) in the hook comes in - then I'm like in another dimension...
After that the track continues in the same incredible style
This is such a perfect track...

You and Jenny should be real proud of this one...

I'm proud by just knowing such a great talents...

I give this song a 10/10 and I totally diasgree with those saying that the vocals are too loud for the gentle beat...

I mean it's a taste thing of course, but it's really important that Jenny strong vocals are not to low...So I want it as it is, but I will listen to the other version that Jenny has made and decide which of the versions I like best first after I heard both...

Overall:
Outstanding vocals by Jenny 10/10
Perfect production by Chris 10/10

Overall: 10/10

Best regards

"We Need To Believe" Oh My God! what a fantastic song!
Soul Summation posted on Wed January 26, 2005
Hi Chris and jen,
Well I finally have a few minutes here to check out your new one with Trulala.

"We Need To Believe"

As with other views on this, I feel that as soon as another artist adds their contribution to a song, it becomes a different entity from the original and should not be compared as the same song.

With that said... Oh My God! what a fantastic song! I listened to both versions, yours here and the one on Trulalas site (the one she mixed with the vox slightly lowered in places). I think the one at Jens is slightly better mixed - the flute melody shines through easier in the middle and the mixture of that with the voice is superb! Very soothing and engulfing. I love interplaying melody parts (a hallmark of my own music), and this song does that with ease and confidence.

The vocals are without a question a true outpouring of emotion. Wonderful sounding voice Jen has - it has that perfect combination of being penetrating both emotionally and auditorily and at the same time being soothing and soft.

Some of my fav parts of this song are the quiet parts though. Where the intimacy of Jens voice mixes with the ambience of the electronic pings.... magnificent!

The message this song gives is huge! I really like the words and the inflections in the vocals. Intense is the word that comes to mind!

Production wise... I have listened to your original version without vocals, and thought that perfect... but listening to this one with vocals it strikes me how I simply am unable to find any places where the vocals feel like an afterthought. It's as if you two were planning this song together from the very beginning and never intended to release a version without vocals! The vocal punctuation is accented perfectly by the electronic punctuation with remarkable reliability and insight.

Whew... enough words for now. I think you get the idea... ;) I love this song! WELL DONE to both of you!!

Your good friend and soul brother,
Ben

Hello again Jenny,

OMG you won’t believe this but after I retyped almost that whole message and sent it when I opened Outlook again a little while ago the original message popped up in my inbox. DAMN I couldn’t believe it. And I KNOW it wasn’t there after it crashed cuz that was the first place I check. Oh well it looked as though I covered almost everything I had typed the first time except I forgot this…

I noticed that someone has designed a couple of very cool animations/drawings for you and I have just been learning how to do flash animations myself. I’ve been TRYING to finish my website VickStix.com Productions for the longest time but I just haven’t had any time for it since the band started taking off all of a sudden. But anyway I’d like to try and make something for you but I would need a better face shot than what I could find at your site. One that’s straight on and of the whole face to really do you justice. If you send me one I’ll see if I can’t make you a lil something that will do you proud. Not nearly as good as what Badgurls made for you but hey I TRY!!! J lol For a couple of examples of stuff I’ve done here’s a few links you can check out… http://home.comcast.net/~vickstix/drawyou/products.htm and I don’t know if you’ve heard Lynn Carey Saylor’s lil Christmas diddy she did called Christmas Mistress but I loved it so much I made an animation for it for them and Lynn is outta town so I sent it to Svenni to put up at his site but he said he wanted to talk to Lynn first and would get back to me. When he NEVER did I figured she must not of liked it. Oh well, she’s just been someone nice I met on SoundClick so I wanted to do something nice for her. Here’s the link to their song if you haven’t heard it yet… http://www.soundclick.com/svennibjorgvins and here’s the animation I made for it… http://home.comcast.net/~broken_sainthood/xmasmistress.htm And a couple others I made for her are http://home.comcast.net/~broken_sainthood/XmasLynn.swf and http://home.comcast.net/~broken_sainthood/SantaLynn.swf I’m still trying to learn how to do the preloader so they might seem as though they don’t work but just give them a little time to load and you should be able to see them. Anyway I just started learning how to do these so I like to make them for people as practice. I would love to make one for you.

Damn gurl I heard your voice and I couldn’t get enough. I
Hey Jenny;

Damn I had sat here and typed out this long ass email and then my Outlook crashed and I lost the whole damn thing. Let me just try and remember everything I said…

First of all I have to be honest here and tell you that I’ve never really been a big fan of hip-hop but you’ve sure made a big fan outta me that’s fer sure! Damn gurl I heard your voice and I couldn’t get enough. I have to admit though, I like the songs where it’s just mostly YOU singing. “I Cry’ is my absolute favorite. Oh man your tone and vocal range is just incredible!!! And that my gurl is putting it mildly. When I first heard you I thought you were a sister fer sure because your voice is just SO DAMN SOULFUL. I’ve wanted to post a message and email you for a couple of weeks now, but I’ve just been SO FREAKIN’ BUSY and I didn’t want it to be just a short impersonal blurt so I put it off. Nevertheless, I’ve been listening to you everyday since I found you. A couple days ago I’m proud to say that we had all eleven songs come in the charts in the top eleven of their sub genres with five of them even making it in the TOP three. The only reason I mention that is because whenever I’m checking the charts I see a lot of your songs in the top numbers as well and whenever I do I always give you a “hot” vote every time I see them.

Then I saw your message and it was just a huge compliment to say the least coming from YOU! It’s just too bad it got cut off because I thought what you said was SO darn CUTE (especially the part that got cut off) The only reason I even saw the rest of the message at all is because I have been trying for the longest time to add a gif file when I post on message board’s and it WON’T let me. It always tells me I’m not allowed to do that. So how do you do that anyway? Is it because we don’t have a VIP account? Anyway I looked at the code to try and figure out how you were able to do that and that’s when I saw the rest of your message. You put a < in the message so it cut out everything after that. Anyway I was so excited to see that you had commented for us (me) to contact you. Although the compliment you made about the vocals would have to go to our vocalist Geri. I only WISH I could sing. I write the lyrics (as well as play the drums), and Geri is the one to deliver them so powerfully. Because I wrote all the lyrics and they are all so very personal to me the band (especially Geri) convinced me to try and sing some of the songs. I’m surprised at how well they even managed to make me sound (especially since I can’t sing to save my soul) although I’m convinced it’s only because I’m singing alongside of Geri’s voice that they managed to make me sound half way decent. She’s just THAT GOOD that she covers up all of my mistakes! hahahaha That and well… they also managed to fix it in the mix pretty good as well. I’m the very low voice that you hear trying to sing backup vocals and I even managed to pull off a few duets with Geri ~ ‘Haven’t Forgot You’, Devil Inside You’, Crush On You, and Quit Yer Bitchin’. I think that’s all of them that I did the whole song with her. But they actually have left me in ALL of the songs we have finished for the cd so far, so I was SHOCKED and humbled because I thought fer sure my voice was taking away from the quality of the songs. I have a very deep low voice. One of my parts that stands out is in the ending in ‘Devil Inside You’ where it says ‘cuz that’s the way I want you’ and I was singing so low it sounds as though they put some kind of an effect on my voice when in fact that’s one of the parts where they didn’t have to do anything to my voice. That’s how LOW it is. lol But thanks for the wonderful compliment to Geri and the band. I too think she kicks some serious ass. So I just wanted to send you an email telling you how much of a compliment that was and to thank you for that. I really wish everyone could see the whole message though, but unfortunately there is no way to edit it. If you want and IF you even have the time you can post it again and I can delete the other two. I realize you’re probably just as busy as I am but I just loved the message so much and thought everyone should be able to read the whole thing that I just thought I’d throw that out there for you. Here’s what your whole message said if you did feel like fixin it.

Then I went back to your site to thank you for the wonderful message and gurl I must say I was TOTALLY blown away when I saw that you had put our banner in your message board. How very KEWL of you to do that!!! I mean I think that is so cool especially since most of your fans are into Hip Hop and so if they happen to click on our banner they just MIGHT hear something they like. Be interesting to see if any of them can get into alternative progressive funky hacker rock! (That’s what we kind of came up with to describe our sound). It’s actually a little hard to label our sound because we try and mix all our favorite styles of music all rolled up together into our music. Someone actually even posted a message a couple of days ago stating that ‘Crush on You’ was not Progressive Rock but that it was Hip-Hop and that we should move it into the right genre. Well I don’t know about that. I certainly wouldn’t say it’s hip-hop but to each his own. The message seemed more derogatory than a friendly comment or suggestion though so I just ignored it. I noticed my little brother had to post something about it though. Too funny!

Anyway gurl I just found your voice, your lyrics and your mixes to be most incredible and just had to take a little time to tell you so. AND also to thank you for the nice compliment you posted and for the banner link as well. I had typed so damn much more in the first email and now I can’t remember half of it so if I remember what I forgot I’ll send you another email if you don’t mind.

Oh yea I just remembered a couple of things…

I put your banner on our link page at our other site at http://home.comcast.net/~broken_sainthood/links.htm I use our message board for chart stats and announcements on SoundClick since we can’t show the stats on the free site (we’re STILL starving musicians for NOW anyway), otherwise I would put it there as well.

Oh and I don’t have AOL IM but I do have MSN IM. Will that work with AIM? Or would I need to get AIM for us to be able to chat? I had already read all about you on your sites and thought you just sounded like a very kewl lady to get to know and so that’s why I was so tinkled when I read the rest of your message. You got mad skillz as well gurl and it’s always nice to talk to talented people who have the same interests as one does. Let’s see what is it you say that I liked so much??? Oh yea "'WE LIVE FOR THIS SHIT!!!" I would definitely have to agree with you there. EAT, SLEEP, BREATHE and LIVE for music is what I always say.

Hope to talk with you sometime,

Vicky aka VickStix

I love both versions of this piece, each has a character of thier own, when I listen to the instrumental I sense one thing, a subtle sense of despair and loss....
On the vocal version I hear a more defined emotion, one of even greater despair.....
To all the parties involved in the creation, Chris and Jen, thank you for the beauty of raw emotion....
To Steve,
Thanks for bringing this to my attention, as always YOU are entitled to your opinions, without them life would be mundane!

Also thanks for taking a `serious` look/listen to these ideas - and much respect for your overall view too

This is Steve’s opinion on the songs, and we, as artists should respect that. After all, we all know that music is a universal language and it speaks to us all as a whole and personally. Tony,
How very well said. I agree 100 %.
If a song "tells me a lot of emotions" that suits my feelings....well....then it´s a very good song for me, even if a huge amount of people tells me that the song is bad. But it´s ok if they think so, that´s their taste.

I feel respect for the members at SC, not that I like all the songs they create, but because they all try to do good songs that they share with us other. That´s what so great with sites like this.

Take care all musicfriends

Hiya there,

Reading through all them posts and drinking 6 cups of coffee left me with a massive urge to drop a post onto this thread.

Before i say anything about the song in question (goodbye my love my sweetheart) i have to add that i heard the colab with chris and jen FIRST.
And like steve mentioned in his review IT TOTALLY BLEW ME AWAY!!!

I can understand 100% when ppl say that the vox seamed to overcloud the music a touch, after my very first listen that was pretty much my oppinion of it. BUT after 18 hours of solid listening!!! lol I seamed to hear further into the song and understand the content and emotions of it more.

On the other hand i am quite a fan of the layer vox approach and like i say after a few listens of goodbye my love my sweetheart i truly was BLOWN AWAY. The vocals really are something special in this, its so obvious when you hear her voice how much emotion is there. Great voice jennifer, i'll be calling round for more of you soon too think alot of ppl and artists will be!

anyway just really wanted to say

i love this song and i can see it means alot to alot of you

well done chris and jen

wow, no I mean WOW!!!!

this track in both its forms is absolutely amazing.

First thing I have to say is, fantasting composition on the instrumental version, I have never heard such emotion oozing through my headphones from a single peice of music, amazing job.

Second thing those vocals, well what can I say, the voice of an angel if you ask me, I am definetly going to be checking out more of your work, you have an amazing voice nuff said. Steve said can you add to an already perfect track (or words to that effect), well I agree no you cant add to it as such, but what you guys have done in my opinion is this.

You have given a peice of music already a full on masterpiece not only a new slant if you like but you have given it even more impact, more meaning for us outsiders, which in turn make it more understood and in effect more emotional.

I hope that makes sense, I am really moved by both versions.

Awesome job both of you.

Hey Thanks ej for you very cool & very insightful comments, and also thanks for taking the time my friend to listen at such depth.
I think you're right about the vocal version - for many it `sounded out` the feelings coming from the original instrumental in a very powerful fashion.
When I wrote the track, it was for me (then) a very personal statement - I didn't dream listners would connect so well, though I hoped

I'm thrilled with the overall responce

Once again, thanks ej ... I'm sure Jennifer will be thrilled also!

Chris.

Hey John, I'm honoured - That's a wonderful thing to say, thank you!
I'm sure Jen will be thrilled also when she sees your post (and others)
Did you listen to both versions? If you've read this thread you'll know they both have special meaning - even more so now

My kindest regards,

Chris.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------
Artist: Project Overseer
Title: Goodbye, My Japanese Sweetheart
Link: Website OR Download
-----------------------------------------

Rather than having to keep typing Project Overseer, let's just call him Chris. Chris Bishop is the sole prop of PO and - I hear the groans - I know I have already reviewed one of his tracks this month.... This, however, is a bit special and I was listening to it anyway and one thing leads to another and WHAMMO you're pregnant Hee hee, silly me what am I saying. I mean you get another review of course Listen, it's me, right? You know me? You know I wouldn't do a thing like this unless I really thought it would be worthwhile to bring it to your attention.

This is that special, and it's a buy one get one free escapade. Read on....

Goodbye etc is that rarest of things; a peice of music that emotes. Now while the rabble go searching for a dictionary, let me explain myself. There are rare peices of music that 1) speak with a recognisable voice 2) invoke and induce emotions in the listener. Some tracks achieve this miracle by bluntness, some with great subtlety. This is the sublime area and where Chris has - to my mind - created one of the most beautifully realised evocations of loss it has yet been my luck to hear. Spot on in every detail (and it contains a lot of detail); Goodbye My Japanese Sweetheart should belong in every musicians 'the way to do it right' folder. As good in his field as the inimitable Bonamici is in his, Chris Bishop and Project Overseer has all the main food groups I require. A beautiful, haunting and tremendously powerful track that will have them weeping in the aisles.

And if that isn't enough...

Along comes another version; this time with vocals. 'Goodbye my love, my Sweetheart' is it's new title and has a vocal by Trulala that is one of those multi-layer jobs that is either going to work or not. This is a great voice, make no mistake; powerful, rich and very emotive. So good is that vocal that I will be checking out some more Trulala on my own time. However, it isn't ultimately about what the vocals do, or not that count. The question in my mind is do they add to an already perfect musical track? Well no, and that is because of that multi-vocal I mentioned which tends to obscure that great music, as good as it is in its own right it just doesn't sit right. OK, well does it take it to some other musical place? Well, yes it does, because although the power and depth of the music is somewhat obscured you DO get an interesting take on the vocal front. If I hadn't have heard the original first, I would have been blown away by this. Unfortunately for this version, I did hear the original first and it only reinforced just how good it is.

A Must Have - in either variety!

Steve,
Another great review of one of my new favourit-artists at SC.
I agree....it´s a Must Have.

Chris,
You know I strongly loved the earlier version of this one. The way you use the stringinstrument and synths are very soft, sweeping and emotional. Now Jennifer has added her great vocals and it´s become even better.

It´s a song that should suite a film-scenery where some lovers are forced to say farewell. The song would give the "watcher" a strong feeling of how it feels in that suítuation.

The song really touches me.

Take care
Leif

Steve, where is it written that having muli layered vocals draw away from the beauty of a track? The Carpenters, you remeber them,The BE GEE'S,I recorded Saturday Night Fever with them, did the same.As a 16 Grammy Awards winner, guitarist, producer ,I Absolutely disagree with your feelings about both the muti layered trulala vocals, and feel you should study, and improve your knowledge of music history.Great music by both Chris Bishop, instrumentally, and vocally by Jennifer.Carmine D'Amico Official Website http://www.carminedamico.com SC SITE http://www.soundclick.com/carminedamico

Hi.

First let me say that Steve,Trulala and Chris are great people.

The Song.
I loved the song the first time around so Trulalas voice was nothing less
than butifull to hear in it.
I have to agree with Steve though, the vocals were a little on the covering
the music side for me to.I realy dont care for vocals these days.
But then I cant sing like Trulala ..lol
Chris has been nothing less than a brother to me for quite some time now.
So I Ravemastered(lol) his track
bringing the vocals down and music up and added a little twist to it.

It is at my site right now ,but I imagine that when Chris
hears what I did you will find it at his site.

For you who love this song you may want to come and listen/download
my version quick for after Chris lets me no he has it
I will deleat it off my site.

To Steve,Great review.
To Trulala..Fantastic voice as allways.
To Chris.Who loves ya Brother...lol

This is very disrtubing to me. goodbye my japanese sweetheart is Chris's beautiful beautiful music BUT my vwersion came from my soul. how can u remix this song and not tell ME about it

I feel very hurt you would bring down MY VOCALS and PUT YOUR TWIST TO A SONG THAT 95% of people have reviewed in an exquisite light. I PUT MY SOUL INTO IT AS WELL. I WOULD LIKE THE COPY OF THAT REMIX PLEASE. YOU MADE A COMMENT, AND I QUOTE,

"So I Ravemastered(lol) HIS track "

GoodBye My Japanese SweetHeart is Chris's exquisite track yes, BUT WITH MY VOCALS ON IT IS NOW A COLLABORATION.

I would like you to contact me and send ME A COPY OF THAT AS WELL. You only had it on your site for a limited time?

I am perplexed hurt and saddedned to the point where i have been intears a bit today. THANK U.

Hello.
Wow..I did not expect you to go over board with what i had
done to Chrises track Trulala.

If Chris(MY BROTHER) came to me and said he had remastered
one of my tracks for me i would be Happy not Hurt.
As I said both versions of the song are fantastic.
just the vocals covered the music a little for ME...(ME)
This is also the point Steve has made that the vocal version is not
as good if you have already listed to it with no vocals.
(a personal flavor)

So I ravemastered it together for all who like it.
And as for my twist to it is only a cut and paste the music with no
vocals in the end of the song so it is also longer.
(ya i like it that mutch)

As far as your vocals go I did nothing to them.
Only mastered the 2 versions together.
For the music stands on its own .
I have had this song in my colection for quite some time before
you ever even listned to it.

If you want to hear what i did to it you will have to ask Chris for it.
Yes it was on my site for an hour or 2 and is now deleated.
And I only remastered it for Me and Chris not a chart placement.
I was there when his Mum was not, were you?
So to me and Chris this is not just a song.

And if you are still hurt by me saying the vocal version was Fantastic
I dont no what to say to you on that other than lighten up...
I bring songs online to learn to get better and if i made
a track that had an overpowering sound in it I would like
to no about it and not be hurt by it.
Oh, and thats happened to me a lot...lol

J-Si

I will be listning to My version everyday now with vocals.

Where did I ever say that?

Quote:
a 16 Grammy Awards winner, guitarist, producer ,I Absolutely disagree with your feelings about both the muti layered trulala vocals, and feel you should study, and improve your knowledge of music history

And I disagree strongly with your tone there. I may not have any awards of any kind, and may not even be that well known but I have worked my butt off for as many years as you - living and growing with the music. I may not know what I am talking about in your terms, but I know exactly what I am talking about in my terms - and that's what counts doesn't it?

See, at the end of the day this is MY review, my own personal slant on what I think about this artists work. It IS NOT an invitation for you to start a pissing match about what I think. You have no idea what I think or even who I am. That is obvious by your comments about my supposed ignorance both times you have posted in response to what I have said about this artist.

I would never disrespect you that way on your own review threads, I would expect you to do the same on mine. If you don't like my review just say so, do not impugn my own knowledge of the subject.

The point that puzzles me most is did any of you even bother to read the damned review? Think so? Read it again and see what I really say.... I'd say I was as complimentary to Trulala as I was to Chris and PO and THIS is supposed to make me feel reviewing is worthwhile?

Come on people, chill out. This is about the music, not the personalities...

When I say covering the music ,
This is what I also feel for the 2 versions of this track.

I agree totaly.and you cant get a better honest opnion
on a track than what was said By Steve G.
and an exelent artist he is.

Original version......Fantastic
Trulala version......Fantastic

I was there a day or 2 after the original was made by Chris.
months ago.....???I listen to it every couple days at the least.

and now I will be listning to it everyday....
Thanks to Chris and Trulala...................

I’m sorry it’s taken a while for me to get over here and comment on Steve’s incredible review on “Goodbye my Japanese Sweetheart” and “Goodbye my love, my Sweetheart” which of course is the new vocal rendition by “Trulala”.

It was a lovely surprise to see this review, and to find that Steve’s insight into the instrumental is exactly the musical message I tried to communicate – I wrote the track just two days after losing someone very dear to me, so I think the idea reflects my feelings well in that respect, and became a `vehicle` for my own emotions.
I’ll be honest and say Steve’s feelings and praise has literally blown my socks off!

Thanks for that Steve, but for me the most moving part of Steve’s review is that I managed to communicate musically, powerful emotions that Steve read like a book, proving that music really is a language unto itself and a powerful means of communication, and it doesn’t need to be complex to do this, though this wasn’t an easy track to make.

Onto the vocal version; when Jennifer (Trulala) came to me and said she would love to add vocals to this track, I was first intrigued.
I didn’t write this piece with vocals in mind, but knowing what a talent Jenny is, I trusted her judgement.
After various chats with Jen, I soon realised something a little deeper was going on, and Jenny needed this tune to release her own personal emotions – in much the same way as me, it became a vehicle for her to let lose bottled feelings.
I was honoured that she chose my track in this respect, and Jennifer’s rendition is powerful & moving as well as in keeping with the original message.
So in reality, this song wasn’t to better or enhance the original, but more a personal statement of love in its deepest sense.
Steve of course wasn’t to know this, and viewed both tracks as would anyone else i.e. as music. I think Steve enjoyed both tracks for different reasons, with his own personal preference being the instrumental, which is ok by me & Jen.

I will say there are a few here that know the more personal side to these tracks, and for that reason will feel maybe a little more passionate towards them.

Out of respect Tom (Ravemaster) I can’t use your mix, though I know you meant well. The work will stand as it is – this wasn’t a commercial venture or us trying to be clever, but a very personal artistic expression, this makes it rare & special.
I know you understand this my friend, and your offer was an honest one I know, so please don’t take offence.

Overall, Jennifer & I have been thrilled with the positive response we’ve had, we also understand it’s been close to the bone for those knowing the pain of loss.
This is an artistic statement that’s powerful as well as beautiful, but at the same time is not a replacement for my instrumental, it’s still there – Jen’s version is a vocal reflection of those feeling, and as Steve said; “it’s a must have in any variety” … thanks for that Steve!

I wasn’t going to say anything direct about Carmine (he’s capable of speaking for himself) but I will say I think I know Carmine pretty well now – he’s been a dear friend. He does know me at a much more personal level, and because of this feels very passionate about both tracks and the real deeper side to their creation, you should read no more into it than this really as he has a heart of gold.

I like to end by saying many thanks to all for your support – I’m struck with awe many times by the wonderful talent which abounds here.
And thank you Jennifer for your wonderful rendition, you’re amazing!

And a special thanks to Steve for your `surprise` review – the only problem is I can’t find my socks now, lol.

Kindest regards,

Chris Bishop (Project Overseer Productions)

That is also why i won`t upload it again eather.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi to ALL MY FRIENDS and Kindred Spirits!!

If it is ok I'd like to give my view on the original and the Collab,
Thanks everyone I knew you'd understand!!

Firstly Just let me point out that I found in no way what so ever did Steve Gilmore make any critisms on the individual artists or their skills. He infact in my opinion felt that although the vocals are very excellent in there own right (and rightly so) did not sit well with the original. This is Steve’s opinion on the songs, and we, as artists should respect that. After all, we all know that music is a universal language and it speaks to us all as a whole and personally. Its opinions like these that help us become more rounded as individuals and as artists. And this helps us ALL improve our skills to communicate our feelings outward to others on how we perceive the world and our lives to be at that snap shot in time.

When I first heard the original I to be honest could not get my head around it, I guess that’s because I have only felt loss on the scale of Chris's only once and its those heelings that I'd rather not have with me for too long.

But when I heard the collab it really punched it home to me, and it opened up my feelings to my loss that I have had in my life.

It is also clear to me that Jennifer (TruLala) has felt loss at some stage in her life too, as this was communicated so beautifully with the emotions that poured out of her heart and into her voice that were so powerful and evident.

I will never forget the first time I heard the collab. It made my eyes well up for two reasons>> 1) It made me remember my loss and brought back feelings>>2) It also made me realise just how much loss Chris felt and how he must have felt when he heard the song. And it is also heart warming to know that we all have FRIENDS here to help guide us through our times of need.

I have after hearing both songs found on a personal level that the collab does reach deeper into the heart, but that is only my personal opinion. I am also very sure within myself that many will have different feelings to me and that is human nature!!

So let us ALL remember, what ever we feel as artists we are all right and all wrong on a personal perceptions point of view but we are here to celebrate life.

AND THAT IS WHAT THESE SONGS ARE ALL ABOUT
THE CELEBRATION OF LIFE.
But even in death there is always "A New Begining"

Let me also clarify a few details.
Steve Gilmore is a very talented artist in his own right and I respect him, and his music as much as I respect, Chris, Carmine and Jennifer.
I feel that we as artists should give thx that we are here and making music that touches people in ways we could never have imagined.

I take my hat off to each and every one of you.

TO ME, YOU ARE ALL MY KINDRED SPIRITS!!

ONE LOVE, ONE WORLD,

WORLD PEACE!!!!!!!!!!!!

RESPECTFULLY
AS ALWAYS

I’ve noted Steve regardless of genre/style, Jennifer (Trulala) gives it 100% heart & soul with every production – I think this is Jen’s most outstanding feature, one that’s made her mega popular here on SoundClick – people seem to lock into all that feeling & emotion; it communicates at different levels.
If I could sum up Jennifer’s musical talent in one word, it would be “Passionate”!
Congratulations Trulala!

Love & Hugs,

Steve Gilmore Reviews Tru la la ** Double Header **

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------
Artist: Tru la la
Title: Can I Touch It?/My Sweet Prayer/I Cry
Link: Tru La La OR Sexual Kiss OR Angel Eyes
-----------------------------------------

Last month I had the good fortune to review Project Overseer's magnificant Goodbye My Japanese Sweetheart and it's vocalised counterpoint Goodbye My Love, My Sweetheart by Tru la la. Now I loved Japanese Sweetheart from the very first moment and, as I said in my review, almost any track is going to come off second best compared to that. It was unfortunate that the two tracks coincided like that because it did take the shine off Tru la la's version - at least for me. Nonetheless, I was impressed enough by Jennifer's vocal abilities to pretty much decide to give her a double header review for this month. All of which enables me, of course, to take a much closer look at what exactly I may have missed on her version of Sweetheart...

The tracks I've chosen are spread out over three different Jennifer guises; Tru la la, Sexual Kiss and Angel Eyes. First up is Sexual Kiss and Can I Touch It? which turns out to be a track produced by Authist - who also features in a double header this month with compadre Dub One. As such, I am going to like the musical side of this because Authist and Dub One blew me away with their tracks this month; this is just a slinkier version of what they do. The same sleek, sensuous feeling fits Jennifer's throaty vocals perfectly giving it a vibrancy that is pure stimulant. A little more laid back than straight Hip Hop, Can I Touch it veers between genres nicely but the highlight has to be those vocals which feature much more artistry than most vocalists of any description. Here is where the multi-layered vocal trick REALLY pays off. Top stuff.

Angel Eyes and their My Sweet Prayer track tread a slightly different musical path than Sexual Kiss, more a spiritual attitude - amply displayed on this excellently performed vocal. The track is (literally) Jennifer and an accomplished piano embellishment that never gets in the way of the main event; the vocals. Again I have to say that I am not always a fan of the multi-tracked vocal and again in this track I think it detracts from what is so obviously a very powerful song. I feel that Jennifer has such a good voice, in all respects that using technical tricks like this is ultimately an excercise in futility. After all, she doesn't sing along with herself live does she? I'd be willing to place a bet that the reason people like her live is because they can hear her (almost) technically pure and that - to my mind - would be an experience. This lady has power, fire and soul in abundance as one listen to this track will show you.

And finally all the way back to Tru la la and a track called I Cry. This track was of particular interest to me because the music and production was handled by one Dave Meredith, an old, old friend of mine from back in the day who has since claimed his slice of fame as the multi-talented Mezzer. People who know me know that I have championed Mezz's work for years and years and that is the reason why I left this track until last to review. I knew that with Dave being mixed up with it I am going to like it; the guy hasn't let me down once in like forever. As I've made clear in numerous Worlds Apart releases Mezzer has become - in my eyes - a consummate writer and producer whose light touch has marked a good many great, great tracks and Mezz has also gone some way towards settling my main quibble with Jennifer's vocal style.

He has brought out more of the tones and depth of her voice than in any of the tracks I have heard from her yet, and worked her harmonic vocals more into the overall mix than in other tracks. I Cry is certainly well up there with other WA releases, and another side of Jennifer's vocal which tackles almost any genre with the minimum of fuss.

So, is she as good as I first thought from Sweetheart?. Well yeah, and then some. I obviously have a personal problem with her need to decorate what is essentially a beautiful voice with vocalistic frills but I definitely see that it does mark her down as being different and yes, maybe even more challenging. From those sultry tones (extremely sexy for sure) of Can I Touch It to the almost solo spiritual My Sweet Prayer to the Big Pop Worlds Apart treatment, Jennifer shows her flexibility and musical nous to substantially add something more than mere vocals. An excellent and worthy talent to decorate your earholes with this coming winter; definitely music to warm the cockles of your heart - in all its guises.

I gotta say Chris, this is uterly superb. Two AMAZING talents pooring their hearts into this stunning epic of loss, love, pain, and heartache.

There simply is no equal that I have heard or witnessed. This song takes the listener to the core of their soul and presents a mirror... there is no escaping it, no way to avoid being touched by it.

I am left stunned by its earth shaking power...

This version of “My Japanees sweetheart”Renamed GoodByemy Love, My Sweetheart) is one amazing track. I’m not certain if the original musical score has changed but the vocals really does this track justice. There is so much expression and emotion coming out of that dreamy voice which compliments this piece, and fits like a glove. It is a sinister track, and very moody which I had mentioned on the original review, but I see that in a positive way. When I listen to this music it is as if I can physically see you strike the keys on your synths with force, I can feel your heartbreak, your loss, your pain. You are portraying this in a way a Artist would want you to see his visions through his paint pallet. You are truly an amazing composer, and it is amazing that you cant put such visions and emotion into a thing, which has no physical form.
Well done to you both you and Trulala, and this deserves a place at the top.

Take Care,

What a wonderful surprise that you had vocals put to this piece!!!! I think it's just great! You may remember that I really liked the instrumental and that I am sort of fascinated by Far East influenced music. It's funny, because I was just complimenting TiK on the song that is on his page that TruLala did (thinking he was involved with that). He wrote and said it was really her piece and that she had given it to him when his Dad died (nice of her)... Well, it's a small (Soundclick) world, isn't it? TruLala did a great job with it - my compliments to her and to you for this lovely piece of music. Bravo!
I love it...

What an atmosphere, starting from the very first note Chris. Incredible vocals, indeed, You and "TRULALA" put that original song to a completely higher dimension with this newer version. I have the feeling that in the original version you were glad you could express your sadness in that brilliant song, but you wanted to do it even more better and beautiful : Because for the person you realy wanted to reach in first place with this song you wanted ... perfection ! And I know Chris, I know, you MADE it, and you must feel sad for sure ... but very happy at the same time you were able to express your feelings perfecly. Goodbye my Sweetheart. ....very atmospheric it still maintains the eeriness you were trying to capture. It is VERY well sung by Jenny and the layered vocals for me actually make the track. Well done to you both.
To really put icing on the cake I felt that the addition of some percussion such as tom fills speckled around would(only my opinion mind) have Phattened the mood and given the odd crescendo to enhance the feeling.

Chris,
It all makes sence to me now....
Good Bye, My Love, My Sweetheart.
Yes I have to admit that when i first heard this I could not get my head around it but now I do and i'm so so sorry my friend.
The longing and pleeding in the song is so emotional, I feel this now and it pulls at my heart strings so badly it makes me ache. You are such an understanding and wise man Chris I look up to you and admire yr strength.
If i become half the man you are, I should be repected by my family, friends and colleages alike.
Truala has transformed this to something i can understand much better.
You know that place that you were talking about in the forums?
Thats where i am now and thats the truth.
Thing is this song reminded me of one best ever friend i lost in "89" and for yr music to make me do that is truly remarkable.
thx chris for letting me know that this was available, i have of course given it the much deserved vote and the play (3 times) and the down load, and its safe to say i'll be over pretty regular to listen to this.

The good thing is Chris, you have helped change my musical pallet and i can now feel more music in my heart and express it with words and images.

Thankyou for the beauty i have listened to tonight.

YOURS EVER RESPECTFULLY

‘Goodbye My Sweetheart, My Love’ One listen and I was hooked
nip (nowun in partikular) posted on Thu October 21, 2004
Hi
I was just checkin before bed and was gonna add your request to my ever-increasing list and thought I’d have one listen to;

‘Goodbye My Sweetheart, My Love’

One listen and I was hooked, I can’t believe I didn’t feel this much pain before. When I reviewed the instrumental, I could feel the loss and the loneliness that came from that, but it didn’t hurt like it does now! That warning of yours is half true Bruv, there’s a possibility of tears but this hit me even harder than that. Trulala’s beautiful voice actually hurts my soul with both the words and the melancholy manner with which she superbly delivers this. I think she hurt when she sang this because you can tell it really is from her very soul.

The piece although generally very sorrowful, in fact still maintains a very peaceful quality about it. That holds you there from start to finish, no matter how many sad memories it may perhaps uncover. I always find it hard to describe how I now feel about people I’ve lost over the years because it doesn’t quite get explained by me saying ‘ I am at peace with them’ but that’s how I feel and how this song makes me feel. A sort of content feeling of peace and inner calm befalls me in these situations, almost as if Nirvana came to find me, if that makes any sense at all.

Well my Brother, it looks like a superb musical score has married with the perfect words and voice here, there’s not really much else I can say but ‘It’s Nirvana – Absolute Heaven’

Thanks for suggesting this, I gotta say I haven’t been listening much this week but this has put me back on track. Thanks for the suggestion and please keep them coming my good friend.

I’ll get Trulala added to the list of visits as well as Carmine and Steve, sorry for my inability at prez.

I’m rarely not thinking about you and your Loved ones and wish you all, all the happiness and Love in the world, Take care

Love

I dont know if i'm the one to judge a track for somebody you lost, ill try to tell you how i feel about it,
the intro was very powerfull, it hits the listener with lots of changes emotions, angy, sad, lony, the vocals mixed just perfectly, alot of sad strings/synth along the way to follow the vocals which are very sad too, and fits very well.
the outro was just superb, lower and lower to the end, the finishing vocal really is well made.

overall i can feel the pain and sadness of losing some one close, even tho i didnt.. it just comes in the soul deep in side in the dark and sad places,
well done really good job.

You know I strongly loved the earlier version of this one. The way you use the stringinstrument and synths are very soft, sweeping and emotional.
Now Jennifer has added her great vocals...well....it´s become even better.

It´s a song that should suite a film-scenery where some lovers are forced to say farewell. The song would give the "watcher" a strong feeling of how it feels in that suítuation.

The song really touches me. All those "complaning" and sad vocals/choirs express a sorrow that´s deep inside my heart rigth now.

Take care my friend

'Goodbye my love, my sweetheat' - tugged at my heart strings
penetraytor posted on Fri October 22, 2004

'Goodbye my love, my sweetheat'- perhaps best not to listen to this after a few large Glenmorangies. This really tugged at my heart strings - I'm at a point in my life where I say 'goodbye' to one special person far too often. I'm hoping this will change, so does she, but the passion of this piece really hit home for me, and almost summed up my mood at the exact moment I played it for the first time. The vocals are very haunting, they portray so much loss, sadness, hope. Its a very emotional and powerful piece. Like I said its very apt to the way I feel at the moment and I felt maybe a tiny welling up as I listened to it (hard to admit, but I did). To touch me in that way is no mean musical feat - few have done it over the years.

Thank you Chris, I know you didn't write it with me in mind but it feels like you did. We dont really know each other, yet somehow you have tapped into my thoughts and feelings and although I'm sure this track will touch ever listener in a different way, it has touched something deep inside me tonight.

Your friend

First of all... just cause I don't like someone's music, doesn't mean I don't like them. Let's just get that one straight, shall we?

Now... I'm listening to "Blue"... who's the chick? She's got a kick-ass voice!!!!! Great kick-ass voice!!!!! Great Did you do the track yourself? It has a swinging, rolling, beat that brings a lot of body movement out in the listener... the mix is superb... damn this music track is kicking... The male vocals... I'd give them about a 3 out of 5... reason? they're not perfectly in sync, and they're off beat... remember... I have a overly persnickety ear, and I'm like the worst ho there is when it comes to rappin'... sorry, but I just gotta be honest... that's just me, man.

The female vocals... damn... thaz all I can say, man... the panning, the arrangement, the tone, the style... the woman is at the top of my list of what I'd call blissful perfection. Very righteous indeed.

The overall feeling for this? I loved it. Despite the offness I gathered from the rappin', I still liked it... between that kick-ass beat you got going on with it that just forced me to swing and jam with it, the woman's voice would come in and hook me on this piece for life. Hm... darn... you just gave me the links to the song... I'd've stuck this one in my station.... I need to add stuff to it... this would've been perfect.

You have a great gift !!!
Hi Jenny,

I was perusing Dub & Authists message board and saw your message to them
about SC and how they changed the genre of your song. First of all, thats
pretty wack of them to do that. I listened to the song and thought you had
put it where it was supposed to be. But, the genre issues keep cropping up
all over. Its not only on SC. However, I just want to encourage you to
look past this and move on to what is really important. That is "The
commercial charts". You have a great gift and there is no doubt in my mind
that with the right promotions and backing you can make a strong showing on
billboard. Those are the charts that truly count Sweetie! Previously, I
have been number one on SC in the Jazz fusion, SKA, Jazz Vocals, R&B,
Hip-Hop, Reggae, Gospel and Metal charts. Currently I am number one on the
Hip-Hop (Old School) charts It didn't put a dime in my pocket dear. But
if you can get on the commercial charts you can make good money and really
achieve things in your career. The SC charts are very flattering but they
are "small stuff" compared to the commercial charts.

I had a stroke about 3 years ago and a very wise doctor told me that if I
wanted to avoid having another one I should stop sweating "The Small
Stuff". Just let it slide and concentrate on those things that really
matter.

So, I say to you today that God has given you the gift. Keep reaching
higher than where you have been. Keep pushing towards the charts that you
have not conquered. Keep your eyes on the prize and don't be distracted by
the small stuff. You're gonna make it baby.

I have been in the game for over 30 years. I have toured with some really
great artists and I have seen stars come and go like the seasons. But I
know hit potential when I hear it. You have got it! Now get out there and
take what belongs to you! Ya feel me? Hell, its already yours. You just
don't know it yet!
Just don't forget the little people (Like Me) :O)

Be Blessed Jenny,

Stoneman

Dream Girl.....
Dream Girl..... this song has a very nice concept. Your vocals blend in real well with this song, the rapper has a strong accent BUT it's part of his style! I respect that. His difference in flow is what makes the song so interesting, because it's not every day rap.

I would rate this song 8.0 out of 10

Which is a good rating in MY book.

Keep making those tracks, Props overall!!

Take care!

Aight.... Starting off ncie , ncie and shill, I'm diggin' how the beat starts a lot. The singing is real nice. My Compliments
Jennifer, thank-you for sharing your vocal talent with the class. You have a beautiful voice. I was very impressed and it brought tears to my eyes when you sang "Footprints". This poem has always been one of my favorites, yet I have never heard it been sung like that. I could see and feel the emotion it brought up in you as you listened. It showed me the level of spirituality, faith, and trust you have in YOUR God. You are great so thanks for sharing!

I would like to say to you Jenny M.--what a beautiful voice you have. You have a gift. You really made me cry with the singing of "Footprints". I also love that poem. I really understand the true meaning NOW aafter hearing you singing it so eloquently after seeing my precious sister die about two years ago. I will think of your beautiful voice whenever i read the poem, "Footprints". You truly deserve a high grade for your presentation and a shot at stardom for you really can sing. My Baby
    Title of Track: My Baby
Creator(s) of Track: Mezzer feat. Jenny (TruLala and Francisco)

Reviewd by: James

Hey there Mezzer mate,(and TruLala too!)
Glad to see that you're still making excellent tracks.
Starts off with a very nice accoustic guitar and some slick drum beats. Jenny comes in with her vocals and puts her lovely voice into an already very sweet track.
I have to say credit for the way that the lyrics and song fit perfectly together. Not being biast cos Mezzer is a mate but he has really excelled himself on this track. He sounds more and more professional every time I review one of his tracks.
The bass used in this track is fantastic and really creats the R and B mood then that Electric guitar comes in and just blows you away. I really really like this track. Good Solid R and B track with a little bit of Mezzer style as well as Trulala's style too thrown in.

My Score: A-

Brilliant stuff m8
Love it!!!!!!
What a singer TruLala is! Hey Mezz, the music ain't bad either LOL.
Love the guitar m8 Good stuff.

Very, very nice Dave.
Your skills have improved with each track I've heard from you. I love these collabs you are doing just lately. Keep up the good work.

Wow Dave this track is awesome I love it. Excellent music and vocals by TruLala. Keep up the good music making m8.

Mezzer! good stuff m8.. Really good.... although its not my taste of music, I think it's really professional and original.
Its so hard to work with vocals and I admire those people who can. U are one of them now.Keep up the good work...!

Reviews! Reviews and More Reviews!
Greetings,

    Regarding your request for reviews on your songs posted at Sound Click;

THAT NIGHT - OK. 2 on a scale of 1-5
Pros:
1. Excellent voice and style.
2. Great execution of vocals, well recorded and powerful.
Cons:
1. Needs a musical or music+lyric Bridge added to complete a more professional song structure.
2. Choruses need to be musically diverse from the verse music structure in order to stand out. As it is, the verses are musically the same as the choruses and this can be a serious issue for listeners of all types; Radio, Label Execs, Fans, etc. Strive to deviate the music and structure of the song during the chorus to create a more professional song structure.
3. Song length is too long for Mainstream Radio airplay interest. Strive for 3 to 3 1/2 minutes at most.
4. Vocal lyrics should start within the first 20 seconds of the song for a more professional song structure.
5. Music Intro is too long, strive to "set the mood" within the first 10 to 20 seconds to accommodate the start of the vocals within 20 seconds.

ANGEL EYES - Very Good!!!! 3 1/2 on a scale of 1-5
1. Excellent voice and style.
2. Great execution of vocals, well recorded and powerful. Nice mix between the two vocalists.
Cons:

SHANDELLE - Very Good!!!! 4 on a scale of 1-5
Pros:
4. Exceptionally soothing Instrumental, very well done.
Cons:
3. Song length is too long for Mainstream Radio airplay interest, but may be just right for the specialty market of New Age music. Strive for 3 to 3 1/2 minutes at most.

ALL DOPED UP - EXCELLENT!!!!!!!! 5 on a scale of 1-5
Pros:
5. Great length for Mainstream Radio airplay. Consider writing lyrics to this one and making sure to create a diverse structure to separate the Chorus and Bridge from the Verse.
Cons:

CAN YOU SEE ME - Good! 3 on a scale of 1-5
Pros:
3. Nice Beat & Groove.
Cons:
3. Song length is too long for Mainstream Radio airplay interest. Strive for 3 to 3 1/2 minutes at most.

DON'T YOU KNOW - Very Good!!!! 4 on a scale of 1-5.
Pros:
1. Excellent voice and style.
2. Great execution of vocals, well recorded and powerful.
Cons:
1. Needs a musical or music+lyric Bridge added to complete a more professional song structure.

OUR LOVED ONES - EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!! 5 on a scale of 1-5
Pros:
1. Excellent voice and style. Really incredible lyrics and singing, our personal favorite of all your material.

As for Producing your songs, we need to understand a little more about what you are asking. A Producer creates and defines your "sound" through the arrangement of musical instruments, vocals and harmonies to accomplish the goal of making your sound unique to you and marketable to your demographic. There are as many differing ideas as to what, exactly, a Producer does as there are Producers.
You must also understand that a Producer needs to be there in the Studio assisting not only the Artist, but also the writers, musicians, vocalist(s) and engineer(s) in accomplishing this task. Therefore we would recommend that you find a Producer in your geographical area if you really think you need someone else to help you define "your sound".
Personally, we feel that you already have a pretty good handle on that. What you may need is a "ghost writer" who can assist in turning your song ideas into more commercially marketable songs. We do that as well, but like everything else in the "Industry", there is a cost.
There are a number of ways to contract those services. An "up front" per song fee where the ghost writer is NOT a part owner of the material. Instead, he/she is working on a "work made for hire" and compensated as such. Or, you contract with the writer on a percentage basis, which usually means they are listed as co-writer and are compensated for their contribution according to standard royalty rates through BMI, ASCAP, etc. Normally, when hiring an additional writer to help complete lyrics and/or music the agreement includes a royalty percentage per song per album AND an up front fee per song that is less than the contract arrangement normally paid a "ghost writer", due to the co-writer being listed on the copyright and receiving royalties from air play and album sales.
Feel free to respond to this Email regarding your review. We appreciate your interest in having your songs reviewed! This shows ABOVE average commitment on your part to continue improving your craft of songwriting and performing. Remember that we can learn as much, usually MORE, from what you may consider "negative" feedback than we can from the typical "Well dones" that most reviewers lavish casually on the Artists reviewed. We sincerely hope that you consider these reviews as CONSTRUCTIVE and HELPFUL, especially in learning how to craft stronger and more marketable songs!
Best Wishes on your continued success in the Music Industry, one of the toughest jobs on Earth!
