April Songwriting Contest Results

The April 2007 songwriting winners have been announced. The songs were judged on songwriting alone. Vocal ability was not taken into consideration. A full instrumental production was also not required. Song of the Year maintains a different set of judges each month to ensure that different opinions are determining the winners throughout the year.

Here is how the judging has gone so far. In the first several judging sessions, all of the entries were narrowed down to 150 songs. In the second phase of judging, the entries were narrowed down to the top 30 songs. In today’s judging session, the top 13 songs were selected. Out of those 13, there will be a 1st place winner, a 2nd place winner, a 3rd place winner, and 10 honorable mentions. Following are the top 13 songs in alphabetical order:
