Review machine messiahs Sex-A-Holic
Machine messiahs has really managed to put together a sexy pop song, with a good electronic groove. Maybe not a Swedish hit single, but a slick and well-written album song that, with proper production and sound, would fit in on any Berlin-electro album.

The first I think of when I hear the bass line is the Swedish synth band Covenant, and as the song progresses, I get more and more convinced that machine messiahs really have their roots in the synth genre. But at the same time the vocals remind me more of European electro clash like Miss Kittin, something we don’t have a lot of in Sweden.

The production is quite nice and rather balanced, and the sound is really quite nice and varied, but it could be much more powerful and professional if the band spent more time on the mix and got the song mastered. The vocals should be made more prominent since this is what really give this song its characteristics.

The vocal track needs a de-esser and a compressor to sound purer, and to allow for a real boost of the volume. Machine messiahs’ mix of modern vocals with an attitude, and the heavier electronic sound, spiced with 80’s synths is a style they share with few. If they retain that while evolving musically and technically, I am convinced we will be hearing more of them in the future.
