The System

What can I say? I'm listening to this tune over and over, loving it as time passes by and almost forgot to write the review Very Happy . This tune is mellow atmosperic, blend of electronic instruments (combinations of phat plastics sounds with a hint of 303 acid) with some pads to give it life and feeling. The filtering done on those plastic-like 303 sounds are great, plus the use of church bells and those x-fileish pulse sounds help to make this tune stand out of the crowd. It's under the instruments genre but it certainly sounds very much like electronica in my ears. The system is the sum of all things soft, eerie, sad, almost like you're in the middle ages (the bells) and when the plastics kicks in it brings you back to the present and sort of into the future. Very moving and definately a favourite in my list.

I have always been a fan because you march to the beat of your own drum, never restricted, governed, or guided by todays standards, you always do what sounds good to you, time and time again you show your minds blue print through your music. this is why you are so highly regarded in my mind. everybody wants to be somebody, but very few want to be themselves.

I noticed a trend coming slowly. Ambient Hip HoP. This was done with techno however I am digging the creative nature of some beat producers in making this work. ACL, and yourself seem to have been making this new thing work out well for the ears. Good job.

Ok, I see why you described the song as smooth. It just has this buttery feel to it - just sliding along. It's really a great sound, quite relaxing.

I like that fact that although most of the stuff repeats a lot, you throw in a few bass and drum fills/hits. A few more would be nice, maybe, but you've got a good balance here.

I like the tone of the bass, and the tone of the bells. Actually, all the intrumentation is top notch. I especially like that effect that sounds like a guitar harmonic.

The one thing about this song is that it feels longer than it really is, probably due to the slow tempo. That's not a bad thing, really, it just means you need to be more care...WOAH! That's amazing! I was just about to write that a sax or trumpet solo would really liven up the track, and then one started playing! Wow. The trumpet solo is great - it's simplistic, but gives the track that jolt it needs to stay alive to the end. Excellent work.

If I was going to change anything, I might have put another solo sooner in the track - guitar, sax, or rhodes. Any of those would have sounded pretty nice in that track. Overall, it's a solid work, and is also mastered very well.
