"FACE OF EVIL" Spirit Party's second helping.
What a different approach from their first album, is the album design itself.Very bold and to the point. With a nuclear bomb exploding in a blood red background, gives you the importance and ergency of the world we live in.The music is still the same rock and roll as the first, which is a good thing, when all we have to listen to these days, are carbon copyed tasteless bands that depend on image rather than music.refreshing and inventive, are a few words that come to mind.if you get a chance,I recomend you give this album a listen.

good rock comes in all forms.
Spirit Party,a concept that brings to mind religous over tones, but this album is anything but. ,"The Spirit Will ROCK You!" is an appropriate title,a very raw old school approach to song writing, that I haven't heard in a while.A good mixture of melody and mood, that I throughly enjoyed. Some may say the sound is 'dated'but if the formula works, then the sound is timeless, and in this case,it works. When asked if he had any reservations about the style and method of writing,B.Eales replied,"All the music you hear today, derived from the movement in the 60s and 70s,the approach to writing rock and roll has not changed. For some reason, the term "dated" has entered into the arena of song writing, yet all of the "new" music I hear, with the exception of rap music,is rooted in the "old school" method.Whats "dated" about a song that sounds great? If it kicks ass,its good, personally,I don't care what the marketing end thinks, how many times have they said a band,or song wouldn't fly,and then it becomes a major hit,or the band becomes "superstars",I know they have good intentions, but their not always right." B.Eales is the driving force behind Spirit Party, the founder, and mainstay of creating music that is refreshing, and enjoyable.Listen to "do what you want ta do"or "Rip it apart" and you hear the basic rock and roll format that gets you to your feet. Then listen to "A winter thing" or "Land O plenty",and relax to provoking thought of reason. There are 17 songs to choose from on this album, and something for everyone.I recomend if you have the chance, gheck this album out. Spirit party-rocks you to the soul-and beyond.
Recently, I had the pleasure of listening to spirit party's latest album. "The spirit will ROCK you!"is an appropriate title, this album does more than that. With very catchy hook lines such as the anthem based "Do what you want ta do",to " Winter thing" a moody slower tempo'd song with lots of provoking thought, you want to here this album all the way though, just to see were it goes next.Although this album is recorded in its first stages,in a home studio, the production is ample enough,to enjoy the musical ideas of spirit party. The main force behind the music is B.Eales,composer/arranger/engneer/mastering/producer,he wears all the hats nessesary,to bring this album to fruitation. Not only does he do all this,as if this weren't enough, but he also preforms all the instrumentation and voices,to bring this prodject full circle. Dispite any flaws one might find with this album, over all,it is very inventive, putting a new twist on an old genre of music.Well worth a good listen or two. So in the words of spirit party,"The spirit will ROCK you!" article written by: Baby Grand.
