I'MS A MEER
I Thought I Could Save
Here is another player in the Electronica play field. I'ms a Meer (yes, that is NOT a typo, the S is meant to be there for those who think their eyes are playing tricks of them. I had to check a few times too, to make sure I was typing the band name correctly) gives us a futuristic musical taste with their avant-garde piece "I Thought I Could Save".
I feel as if I am being transported somewhere as the track gives birth, with the sound of the wind coming through, almost as if I have 'taken off'. The beat is then introduced thinly to the arrangement, thankfully building in strength and groove as the track moves along. The addition of an extra line of rhythm (or added beats) in this respect works well as it helps to hold this experimental package in a more assured and composed manner.
The amalgamation of sounds (especially the sliding) paints an almost space-like ambience, as if one is on a spaceship, travelling in the outer realms of our galaxy. The excited tempo in this track almost makes it seem like you are not just on that galactic ride, but also chasing something, searching for something, dodging around corners ever so briskly yet cautiously so as not to get caught.
While "I Thought I Could Save" (my imagination is saying perhaps this music is for a hero in outer space, trying to rescue a lost soul) is not what I would call a show stopper of a tune, it is cool and trippy enough with its almost psychedelic charm to be appropriate for background music in an adventure movie set in space. Perhaps if a James Bond flick was ever time warped and transported into a setting far ahead in time, this would be type of music I would expect to hear And I do not say that in a bad way.
"I Though I Could Save" is definitely not your regular chill-out lounge music, but it does give the listener an interesting and futuristic soundscape to enjoy for a concise 2 minutes, not leaving enough room for us to be bored.
I shall also give credit to the artist for having a very unique band name though - I am still to this point wondering what it means! Intriguing stuff.
