"Riddler J's first Christmas song takes a dark & gritty twist on this fine slice of Trip Hop. Rest assured, you ain't never heard anything like this 'til now! *Local No.1 Hit*"

I wonder how big "local" is (?)

Ah well...

This is a sort of hip-hop ditty, with some uptuned electronic sounds to it. The attitude of this tune is quite fresh, and does not resemble the usual garbage hip-hop tracks I'm used to hearing on MTV. No, this is an original cut on the subject hip-hop, with great sounding vocals, and uhm, eeh, a fairly average electronic theme in the background.

Yes, this is hip-hop, and since the electronic music isn't supposed to be the "main attraction" anyway, I'm not going to give them much attention (since the main attraction are the vocals.) But I can say that it all works:) The structure is good, and the sound quality is beyond my expectations. The atmosphere is sort of sinister, and the theme is a kind of clever take on what the artist calls his Christmas song for 2001. (Be that 2002 probably, since this review is way overdue.)

Actually, everything about this tune is close to perfection hip-hop wise. It doesn't have the good old clichés that your usual hip-hop masters like EmineM, or the other brothers of the black flavor produce. But this has a tremendous freshness about it that should make this a hit wherever.

In the end, we have a masterpiece in the hip-hop genre. The thing stopping it, is maybe the fact that it will, to many, come as a surprise. Many will not even recognize this track, and live to enjoy it. The genre really needs inventive material such as this, and this song should be hailed by fans, and record labels everywhere.

I just hope this review helps the artist in any way possible. I am already a bigger fan of hip-hop with this artist on the map.

I'm a big fan of this very form of ambient music. If you like chillout that's deeply instrumental, with little rhythm applied, you may like this.

Riddler J certainly took me for a loop (no pun intended) in this song! It seemed in the beginning that there was a cycle of repeated chords that might not go anywhere. Soon, there was a transition. Then it seemed there was somewhat of a misplaced snare around the 2-minute mark that really threw me off guard! With a lot of repetition, I believed this tune had fallen apart. Again, I was deceived as the breakbeat rhythm came into play! And then, it made sense again! As the tune progressed, some filters came into play, and the depth of the chorus progressed along quite nicely! The raining sound effect just before 4:00 is a nice touch, giving the impression of the exact title of the song, "Missing..."

Ambient music of this type allows the mind to flow into imagination and thought rather easily.
Throughout the song, there is the image placed in my head of someone missing something or perhaps someone. The feeling is rather substantial and powerful, and Riddler J has done a good job in revealing the effect of that particular emotion in this song.

It may be over seven minutes in length, but I believe this song is worth a listen for each of those minutes. The progression and drama revealed in the music will leave an impression on you!

Moment Of Sadness 3
I'm listening to it now... very much in that sombre Eno-ish mood that reminds me of the backside of Low. Definitely mood music...

That's pretty. It's a soothing, hypnotically relaxing tune.

oooohhhh...this starts off very moody and eerie. I like the strings in it, but I love strings anyway. I will listen to the rest. Very melancholic. Nice build up with the more powerful strings. I am enjoying. Good instrumental. Nice recording. Is this all on keys or done in a program?

This is not the "Riddler J" I knew from before...

Very thoughtful and sensible excursion in the world of industrial ambience... the track itself is far from being a typical 'song'. It is rather a journey into a melancholic world, guided by a very melancholic voice. Due to the lack of my english-skills I can't evaluate the 'value' of the used words... but it sounds like poetry and is very enjoyable. I like this extraordinary production.

Listening...Lovely long swirling drone chords and the dry vocal creates a nice tension between the 2..Very intimate..'your the touch of my fingertips' is a neat line..Your vocals remind me of Bernard Sumner of New Order a little..Very interesting track-kind of serene-but a little disturbing too. This track got a '5' my best from JDR too...

This is a true original. It's got a great hook, those two chords your using are very haunting and the singing fit like a glove. I like this a lot.BIG HOOK... My Best *****
