The Music:

Rory's music is unique ... I say that in positive terms, for the most part - however, I think his creative mindset will send him "Off to explore" - which is excellent for a singer / Songwriter ... however, can also make some songs become less market friendly. I look at Rory as the Country Version of Beck ... which is not bad ... country could really use someone who has the "Guff like Ruff" to shoot through the envelope, to test the waters ... just as Gary Allan did it out west, and thumbed his nose at Nashville ... I see Rory in the same fashion. Rory is a NEW OUTLAW ... A new rebel.

His music will become more and more refined and guided, and I really think he has a serious chance at breaking into the national scene.

He has the look, the style, the quality. His intelligence, WOW ... and that always helps in the industry. Rory has a good eye for the snakes in the industry ... I have watched him learn this lesson ... and watched him excel ... Once Rory had met Passman, I knew he would learn the rest! Keep on learning from Passman Rory! He is a good guy!

Rory's music is worth the listen ... and I say that totaly unbiasedly ...

Songs like "Beautiful You" are a great mix of traditional country and modern, country - pop. I do not hear anyone else doing the kind of music Rory Ruff is doing right now.

It is no wonder John Rich too a liking to Rory ... I am sure that they are similar in mindset and paradigm!

Angels is a great microcosm for Rory Ruff ... You can hear him almost develop.... experiment .. and if you walk through "All 1000 versions LOL" of the song ... you are bound to hear a version you like ... even if you are a Buddhist Monk!

Angels, remixed, excellent song ... great chords, great melody, unique chords, great use of tags and hooks, and inflections ...

Angels is the masterpiece so far ... who else is writing this kind of music in Minors?   Writing a hit in minor keys is what will lead Rory Ruff into the majors!
