"Intro"
A lengthy intro track with B-Cide doing some talking. A nice beat in the background by Rock II Productions. Just the intro to the album.
"Welcome to Utica" ft. Shysty, Sleezy, Lyrical E
An ok beat from Freerapbeats.com. The flows are pretty good on this song. B-Cide's style takes a little getting used to, but once you get used to it you really get into his deep lyrics. The other rappers on this song are alright, but I'm feeling B-Cide the most. A coo song to start the album off with, I'm feeling it.
"Upstate Madness"
A tight, tight ass beat by Auditory that slaps hard. B-Cide spits some coo lyrics on the first solo song. B-Cide has a bit of a rough style to his delivery, but it works perfectly to me. He rips the mic hard on this song. A very good song overall, one of my favorites on the album.
"Bodega" (interlude)
B-Cide and someone else go a store and pick up some blunts. Not much else, just a lengthy interlude. It's a bit funny too.
"Bud Greentreez" ft. Raw Dogg
A coo beat on this song by Soletemity. I'm not feeling Raw Dogg that much, but B-Cide comes alright. I think they could have used a better hook to the song though, I wasn't feeling it much. They talk about smoking up some purple haze. It has a pretty good pace to it. A decent song overall.
"My Father"
A weird beat by Atomic XL. B-Cide talks about how much he respects his father. The hook is a bit strange as well, but I like the little singing to it, it makes the track unique. B-Cide spits some good lyrics on this song, a nice tribute to his father. I'm feeling it overall.
"Show Me a Mic" ft. Lyrical E
A coo little bit that has a cool little pace to it by Propaganda. Lyrical E starts the song off with a good verse. B-Cide comes coo on this song too. I don't like the hook at all though. Could have used a better hook, but the verses are solid and on point. I'm feeling it overall.
"Double Bladed Knife (CKC)"
The Unknown lays down a dark styled beat for this song. B-Cide has a weird effect added to his voice, but I'm not feeling that at all. He comes with some murder lyrics on the mic. Some horrorcore type shit right here. It would have been cool, except for the effect on his voice. A decent track overall.
"Bitches in tha Game"
A solid beat by Rock it Productions. It sounds a little like a 007 type beat. B-Cide comes with more horrorcore type of lyrics. The hook is not good at all though, cause he tries to sing and it doesn't work. The hook might have worked if he just slowed down his flow and tried not to shout so much. I still like the song a lot though, I like his style on this one and the lyrics he spits.
"Platinum Bound Playa Productions" (interlude)
He goes to a place where they are going to make him into a platinum artists, but they tell him to change his style around and he tells them off.
"Money Can't Buy It" ft. Tha Prince
An ok beat by Rock it Productions. He talks about money buying everything for people, but it can't buy him. I like the lyrics he puts down on the mic. Tha Prince finishes off the song with a good verse. A solid song overall, could have used a better hook, but more solid verses from B-Cide.
"Final Hour (Respect & Power)"
A tight beat by Rock it Productions to get things started. B-Cide rips the mic on this song. He talks about getting respect and power in life. More good mic work on this song and a better hook then there's been on the last few songs. A solid song overall.
"Fugitives (America's Most Wanted)" ft. Shysty
A slower beat by Auditory for this song. I'm not feeling Shysty that much, but B-Cide comes hard again. I like the faster paced songs with him though, I don't like him with this slower flow. The song could have been better, but it was decent.
"Chillin on the B-Cide" ft. Lyrical E
The same type of hook from track seven that I wasn't feeling. The beat is weird by Propaganda, and I'm not really feeling it at all. B-Cide and Lyrical E come coo on the mic, but I'm not feeling them on the hook. It needed a new hook and a new beat. I just skip this song.
"Down Here"
A tight, tight, tight ass beat by Atomic XL. I like the background instruments used and the bass kicks hard. B-Cide knows what to do with the beat and lays down a tight ass flow on the mic. The hook is perfect and he doesn't try to do too much with it. This is my favorite song on the album, everything just fits together so well and everything bangs hard. Bump this shit loud!
"That's Life"
A slow paced song. The beat is decent at best by Propaganda. I don't like the slow pace of the song. B-Cide comes with some good lyrics on the mic, but I like his fast paced flows more than flows like this. He just talks about some of the hard things in life and how that's life and you have to deal with it.
"Jus Tryin to Make a Livin"
A coo beat by Soletemity. He talks about his life on this song and where he comes from and where he's going. I like the hook on this song. A pretty good song overall, I still like the faster flows though.
"Up Hill Battle" ft. GL
A decent beat by Auditory, but I'm not feeling it that much. GL starts it off, but I'm not feeling him at all. His flows are pretty good, but I don't like his delivery. He's good on the hook though. B-Cide has a short flow near the end of the song. A decent track at best, but I'm not really feeling it.
"Keep it Tight" ft. Lucky
Rock it Productions lays down more of a mainstream type beat. Lucky starts it off, but I'm not feeling him at all. B-Cide comes hard on the mic, but this one should have stayed as a solo song. Could have been perfect as a solo song, but with Lucky it's just a decent song.
"Outro"
This is a short freestyle to end the album with. A coo little freestyle action from B-Cide.
"Welcome to Utica (Extended Intro Mix)" ft. Shysty, Sleezy, Lyrical E
I like this beat a little bit more than the original. There is a lot of talking to start the song off with. The flows are the same. I'm feeling the beat more, but I like the original more because there is no talking.
Overall this was a pretty solid album from B-Cide. It seemed to me like the whole album was a little rough around the edges, but there is definately some potential to make a tight ass album. Some of the songs needed to be thrown out and the features needed to be cut down, but the solo songs were banging! It took me a second to get used to B-Cide's delivery, but once I did I really got into his lyrics and his music. The production was pretty solid for the most part and a few of the songs slapped hard. I liked the album more and more the more I listened to it. A solid release from this NY cat. I hope to hear more from him in the future.
