Jessica Urick: "A Little bit of Me..."
“In this man’s world consider me a rebel,” says Urick in “Cruel Girl,” a foot-tapping jam and fan favorite she wrote after a guy called her a “she devil.” The song is track one on her fun, and not so serious look at life and love through a country girl’s eyes. She stays in control on “Cowboy,” a woman-on-the-prowl tune about what she needs in a man. The shows a softer and more vulnerable side in “Twilight Blue.” Wither her in-your-face attitude and lyrical maturity, you’d be surprised to find she’s only 19 years-old. Living in Athens and Atlanta has tightened her southern roots, plus performing for crowds since she was four doesn’t hurt her musical abilities. She’s juggling college and pursuing a career in music right now, which with all factors combined, makes us wonder if we have another Trisha Yearwood on our hands.
