Di Anne Foxx, Achievements keep Growing
Di Anne Foxx, Achievements keep Growing

Independent Artist, Di Anne Foxx, a native of Picayune, MS, has done something that few major artist can claim credit too. Di Anne has signed an agreement for Warner Brothers Studio to use her music vocals in the motion picture entitled "Lucky You". This film is director by Curtis Hanson who is also know for such box office hits as " L.A. Confidential," Wonder Boys " and " 8 Mile ". Drew Barrymore, Eric Bana, Oscar winner Robert Duvall, and Debra Messing round out the all-star cast for this production. Screenplay written by Oscar winning screenwriters, Curtis Hanson and Eric Roth.

This film is the story of a professional poker player ( Eric Bana) who gets a lesson in life from a struggling singer played by Drew Barrymore, as he collides with his estranged father played by Robert Duvall. The story is centered around the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. Di Anne was notified that the scene, using her voice, was deleted along with the scene next to it, and would only be included in the "Deleted Scenes" on the DVD. "Lucky You" was released on DVD, September 18th, 2007.

Debra Messing lip-synchs to Di Anne’s version of "Bartenders Blues", written by James Taylor, while doing a mermaid scene underwater. Di Anne released this song on her last album, "Tainted Rose". The album has won Di Anne numerous awards in Nashville, two of which are from the ICMA for "Entertainer of The Year" and the "American Heritage Award". The last award was for active roll by performances Di Anne has taken for our Veterans, the disabled and the elderly. The album has also achieved the status of "Airplay Platinum" from Radio Station Airplay and product sales through ICMA. Di Anne is also a strong and well known advocate of saving our planet and her album included a song supporting "Earth Day" which has become a standard for that cause and is played nationwide every year on Earth Day.

Di Anne has been a friend of Turtle Pond for many years now. She was a favorite of the Late Earl Phelps who was our talent scout and " Uncle Earl " to all who knew him. No one here was at all surprised to hear of this accomplishment. If you would like to learn more about Di Anne Foxx you can contact her management at:;

Di Anne Foxx - Tainted Rose (Foxfire Records)
Apr 12, 2004

Very, very nice country album by Di Anne Foxx that is just begging to heard on the radio. I hear a lot Patty Loveless and Connie Francis in these songs, which is high praise indeed as I feel Di Anne is a powerhouse in a live setting.
And the pace on this album is quite good, opening with two ballads then the playful "Honky Tonk Man" Di Anne was been playing country music for over 10 years and she knows what songs will work for her. A well produced album as it highlights Di Anne's voice and does not overwhelm it with her background musicians.
I enjoyed every track on this album and hope it does well enough saleswise that Miss. Foxx will release another one very soon.....
This is no tainted rose but a full fledged one....highly recommended.

Artist: Di Anne Foxx
Song: Lets Call It A Day Today
(from the Album "Tainted Rose")
Genre: Country

Di Anne Foxx has a genuine Country voice. It is warm, attractive, sweet, and
a lot of other things...but most importantly of all - it is truly Country!
In a day when few female country singers don't even sound country anymore,
Di Anne is a welcome relief.

This is the way Country was meant to sound!
This is best displayed by my personal favorite track, "Lets Call it a Day
Today" from her latest album "Tainted Rose". It is a traditional and genuine
sounding country song - with a few contemporary sounding insrumentations
added to the arrangement for flavoring. A bit of strings and keyboards are
thrown in and, well... if there are tears in the song and it helps set the
mood... it's ok by me. The pre-chorus hooks you in as much as the chorus
itself. Quite an acheivement. It's a song you can hum along to after hearing
it once...and after the second time - you won't forget it.
The lyrics and arrangement show that Di Anne is a well developed songwriter.
The vocal was delivered with a heart for what was being sung, making the
song more believable. So all the elements are there for a great song: The
melody, mood, arrangement, structure, etc. Not to mention the passion!!

Di Anne Foxx - Tainted Rose - Sad country music. I'd say bluesy, but that would indicate a song with blues musical elements. Instead, the song are the kind of songs which generate a tear in your beer. After listening to this album once, you'll want to drink a beer. After two listens you'll feel that somebody understands your pain. After three you'll be crying over your lost love, even if they're not lost. A complete tearjerker. new pop

Listen.com Review
Lazy-day, sunshine-laden Honky-Tonk songs of heartache and love. Di Anne!'s tear-in-beer ditties are as classic as some of her inspirations. She knows how to keep the sentiment real without overdoing the dramatics of a song, and her voice is so buttery, you'll want to listen to her with a nice warm batch of homemade cornbread near at hand. For anyone who has never been able to get enough of female Honky-Tonk singers, Di Anne!'s songs are sure to satiate one's appetite for rustic laments that are as timeless as country music itself.
