Guitar Player Magazine - April '05 Artist Spotlight
On his current demo, Mishler plays a variety of styles—showing influences such as Joe Satriani and Dimebag Darrell—and offers a burning unaccompanied solo. Armed with impressive speed-picking and arpeggio skills, Mishler tempers his over-the-top chops with well-crafted melodies and interesting compositions.

Denny Mishler on the "Road to Ruin"
In February 2002, one of Ely's local talent, guitarist extradinaire, Denny Mishler, celebrated with friends and family his departure to New York to join the band Badwater. Denny is well known for his performances with local bands. The back east band contacted Denny after hearing his solo album, Last Rain.
Badwater's lead singer, Sebastian Kelly told Ely Times the band's first album release "Rage & Ruin" is due in stores in June 2002. The title track has been released as the first radio single and is getting airplay by radio stations all over the world including Ely's local radio station, KCLS 101.7. They are also being heard in Europe and South America. The band has been doing some warm up shows to get ready for their "Road to Ruin" summer tour. The Wreck Room in Montgomery NY was their first show with Denny. "Denny absolutely floored the audience with his rendition of Steve Vai's 'For the Love of God.' He is the toast of the town," said Kelly. But thats no surprise to us local fans who have seen Denny perform.
The band has a few more shows scheduled in New York and PA such as the Vogue, The Chance Theater, and the Golden Rail. In a few weeks the band will return to the studio to finish up their album.
To request Badwater's "Rage & Ruin," call Ely's local radio station KCLS 101.7.

Local Guitarist Heads for New York
Local guitarist extradinaire, Denny Mishler, has been entertaining the local area with bands such as the McGillBillies and U-Turn for the past few years, but not for long. The New York based band, Badwater, contacted Denny 3 months ago after hearing his solo album, "Last Rain." The album went to #3 on the Instrumental rock charts. Badwater contacted Denny and they will begin touring the East Coast this summer. Denny's departure will be on Valentine's day. From the age of 7, Denny's practice, ability and dedication is finally paying off.
His first performance was in 7th grade at a local talent contest. His band "Crude" competed and won 3rd place. He's been performing with local bands all over Nevada ever since.
For those just starting to learn guitar, Denny recommends making good use of your practice time and always make sure its fun! The most requested song for Denny is "For the Love of God" by Steve Vai. Speaking for myself, I've always loved hearing him play "Eruption" by Van Halen. For those of you with favorites too, Denny may be leaving the area, but you can still hear him play. Check out his website at www.soundclick.com/dennymishler.
Denny doesnt have any specific plans after the tour except to keep playing. He would like to return to Ely some time, perhaps even to perform for us again. He will continue to update his website for those who would like to follow his career.

2002 WPC Fair (featuring Denny with 2 bands)
This year's fair was as fun as it was hot. The unusual warm weather did not hamper the community from showing up to enjoy awesome entertainment...."Damn Skippy" performed for a couple of hours Saturday afternoon, crankin out rock classics featuring the guitar wizardry of Denny Mishler. Sunday Produced Deborah Dawn and "U-Turn." The band had performed to a full house the night before at the Bull riding. The late night did not hamper the band who were back at the fair around noon on Sunday. Not even for guitarist Denny Mishler who played for both bands, performing 5 different shows over the weekend. They poured out new and classic rock with a touch of country here and there. Both bands were great and love music......
