Paramount Performance Unforgettable!
Barbara George & One World took the stage, literally! I had already heard this terrific band at the Orange County Speedway during the summer, but this time, they were able to do more, and in so doing, impressed me even more. You could feel the energy from the whole band-from their facial expressions, right to the very core of their music. Barbara looked as good as she sounded, her voice ringing throughout The Paramount. The high point of the evening (not to take anything away from the incredible band), was when Barbara sat on a stool without her guitar, called Jon Kirch out to play the piano, and Barbara proceeded to sing her own version of the old George Gershwin tune, "Someone To Watch Over Me." I was floored. I've already described her voice as gutsy and beautiful, but this time, I was mesmerized. Barbara George & One World were out of this world! I will never forget this show, and I look forward to seeing and hearing lots more of them! -

Award-Winning Music Blows Away Blahs!
More than a hundred thousand people heard her sing at the South Street Sea Port and if there's any justice in the world, you should too! Award: To Barbara George for her song, "The Earth Anthem" being named the official song of Orange Environment. This past Earth Day, George was invited to perform at the WNEW-FM sponsored celebration. When they heard her deep, rich, octave soaring voice, they asked her to sing and she closed the show to a standing ovation. No wonder! George has a great big rock 'n' roll voice that can be tough or tender. She writes tight tunes with sharp hooks. Add it all up, and you've got music with heart, soul and integrity! -
