When all songs are submitted to the competition, they are stripped of identifying information & all songs submitted are assigned "blind" numbers when presented out to our judging panel, so they have no idea who the actual writer is of the song they are judging (in one more effort taken to ensure each song is given fair treatment, regardless of who the writer may be). So, it was an incredible reality in learning that MANY of the songs submitted by Jarbs placed well in January's round of competition.
The Song "Industrial Revolution" has won FIRST PLACE in The 2005 ISDN Song Of The Year Competition, for the month of January in the ELECTRONICA / DANCE music genre.
The Song "God Trance Ye Merry Gentlemen" has won FIRST PLACE in The 2005 ISDN Song Of The Year Competition, for the month of January in the Specialty Music genre (consisting of Christmas songs, Novelty songs, Patriotic songs, Children songs, Parody songs, etc).
For the month of January, many other songs entered by Jarbs placed as category finalists throughout multiple genres. A total of "8" songs by Jarbs has taken either FIRST PLACE or FINALIST positions within January's competition, with these songs (like our other FIRST PLACE winners & finalists) being forwarded to labels, artists & many music industry opportunties as a result of placing in their submitted genres for January.
"Industrial Revolution" and the other hot song mixes winning placement this month by Jarbs, have been accepted & sent to the folks at "Showtime Networks" ... for possible consideration of having the winning tracks used in the HUGELY popular Showtime Series "Queer As Folk;" which is now in the final stages of wraping up it's 5th & final season of the smash hit series. His songs have been presented for consideration to many other film / TV opportunities.
Jarbs (Aaron Jarboe), with his FIRST PLACE winning songs, "Industrial Revolution," & "God Trance Ye Merry Gentlemen" will go on to compete with other monthly winners from each genre category, to determine the honor of our International Songwriter Discovery Network's 2005 "Song Of The Year."
