Buck "The Big Man" Helton is a true Texas treasure who has been hidden away too long. Buck Helton offers his "CATTLE ON A THOUSAND HILLS" as a perfect example of Texas music. With a voice as true as Johnny Horton and a full baritone delivery as smooth as Tennessee whiskey, The Big Man will take you on a fabulous journey through the eyes of a cowboy. Leaning toward a gospel theme at times, but forever an exemplary western offering, this disc is one of my favorite western albums of the year. There's not a bad cut on this disc, from the vocally perfect "Approaching Hoofbeats" to the right-out-of-a-truck-commercial "Riding Down The Canyon," The Big Man grips the listener with his flawless delivery. A must-buy for true Texas music fans who enjoy the singing cowboys of the Lone Star state. No flash, just great music. Get it today!
