Holy Madonna! Goosebumps all over! (You who review My review, listen to this track, just hit the black'n green play button, sit back and relax, enjoy)!
First of all: Lyrics with a thought. Nice.
Allright, here comes the specifics then. You asked for it so...
1: Lead Voc. almost without fault. A special voice that really is strong and right on key all thru the song. Good blue notes without excessions. Tasteful. Though I sense a TINY BIT of insecurity now and then (Big business - NOT!).
2: Melody. Engaging. Sometimes it is even Surprisingly sweet and with ease breaking new grounds within the song/harmonies. Darn I think I'm gonna cry.
3: Mood. Sadness. For Me it is. It is a love song and here I am all by My poor lonesome.
This is the best I've heard on Garageband.com so far and believe Me, I've reviewed a whole lot of songs in various styles. But this just ah. Lack of words. Does that lack of words make you feel good? I hope so!
Over all: A fine tuned and absolutely gorgeous love song that I'd buy tomorrow if in store. Yes, sir. I'd do.
You will know immediately why Robbins' song "Luminous" won "Best Song of 2004" in the International Online Music Awards. You will also know why she was nominated for "Best Female Solo Artist". You will agree that her song writing and her voice reflect timeless character, elegant grace and searching sincerity.
There is an artistic depth to Robbins' music that speaks of beauty beyond the surface and yet lifts the listener with that transcendence that only art can give. She indeed epitomizes the qualities she extols in her song "Luminous".
As you read her responses to the CreatorsWeb Interview questions below, you will see that there is something very special about Rose Robbins that goes much deeper than the mystic beauty of her music and the striking beauty of her face. Hers is a beauty of the soul.
We are looking forward to her full length CD!
(Globally Appealing Superior Songwriting) (yep just made it up!)
With one of the most original piano intros I've heard in a long time, Rose Robbins (Songbird09) brings an absolutely wonderful vocal to the fore and it's certainly one of the most appealing I've heard in ages. In part, her voice is reminiscent of Brenda Russell, Judie Tzuke, and Joni Mitchell rolled into one.
'Luminous' is the blue between grey clouds; a songwriting milestone in it's magnificence, sensuality, and beauty, and when her first album becomes available, I'll have a smile as wide as the joy that listening to this song brings!
