Ebell Club meets April 5th with the Merry Blacksmiths
The Ebell Club of Santa Paula is meeting the afternoon of Monday, April 5 at Faulkner Hall, First United Methodist Church. There will be a business meeting with Ellen Christensen presiding. Following the meeting will be a program presented by the young, exciting group, The Merry Blacksmiths.
The idea of creating an Irish traditional band first came to Max Becher two years ago. The band plays traditional and modern music of Ireland and Scotland, as well as music composed by its members.
Members of the band are leader Max Becher on mandolin, whistles, guitar and fiddle; Daniel Bagdazian on guitar; Liam Collins, fiddle and whistles; Nicholas Collins, spoons; Patrick Coughlin, piano and accordion; Luke Seeley, bodhran; Jeremiah Vierling on whistles; and they are frequently accompanied by Samantha Harvey, piano, accordion and step dancing. Step dancers Morgan and Taylor Bozarth have also performed with the band.
